I guess that Lennard emailed the hospital, because about half an hour after our call, a nurse that was sitting behind a row of desks and computers in waiting room came over to me and asked what my name was.
"Kevin Barr," I said.
"You're waiting for a Mister Eddward Vincent, right?"
I nod.
"Okay, please come back tomorrow afternoon, and you'll be able to see him in place of his family."
"Why can't I see him now?" I asked defensively.
"He's not stable enough to be visited yet," the woman said, her red lipstick forming a frown. "I'm sorry, sir."
"I can't stay the night?"
"I'm sorry, sir, but you can't."
I nod. "Okay. I'll show myself out, then."
The woman nods, causing the blonde curls in her ponytail to bounce. She walks back to her desk, and I wander down the halls of the hospital until I smell cigarettes. I stop and look at the closed door of the room with the disgusting stench leaking out of it.
I walk up to the door, and just stand there. I don't know why, but I can't bring myself to knock on the door.
I chuckle at my own stupidity and walk away.
I don't have anything to say to her, anyway.

Since I forgot my car out on the road where Officer Taylor stopped me, I decided to call Nat. The hospital was only a few miles from the cul-de-sac, so it shouldn't be too big of a problem.
It took four rings for him to answer the call. Nat answered the calls drowsily and said some words that meant no sense. I waited a while until I told him to pick me up from the hospital.
"Why're you at the hospital?" He asked over the phone, sounding like he's finally woken up.
"I'll tell you when you take me home, okay? Just head here soon, please."
He got to the hospital in less than twenty minutes.
