I stared in curiosity at the mask he wore. "You are not yet ready to see that." He said turning away from my stare. "It's a deformity isn't it? I have one of my own." I said casually. He looked st me surprised. "I keep it hidden under layers of makeup." I said and brushed my hand over my cheek vigorously. As soon as I moved my hand away he gasped. A long jagged scar covered my cheek. "How....how did it happen?" He asked, his eyes never leaving it. "I had finally convinced father one day to let me out on my own without my nanny or Christine. I walked out and made it to the town. It was crowded and I suppose the perfect opportunity for a couple ruffians. I was but twelve at the time, just starting to develop places that are quiet clearly developed now. I was suddenly pulled into a darkened alley, my mouth covered so I couldn't scream. Their hand cupped so I couldn't bite it. They threw me on the ground and one pressed a knife to my cheek. 'What a pretty little one you are. We're gonna have some fun with you.' Their disgusting voices still haunt my mind. They began to undress me and I began to struggle and seizing a seen opportunity I tried to escape. The one with the knife cut my cheek open, just barely away from all the way through. Luckily a police officer found us before they could take my innocence away. They rushed me to the hospital and all they could do for me was stitch my cheek up and hope it healed without too bad of a scar. They were wrong. The scar is there and prominent." I said and smiled softly, the scarred tissue wrinkling further with the movement of my lips. He slowly raised his hand to the mask he wore and clasped the edges. He brought it down and revealed a burned scar, on half his face. He took the wig off his head and revealed thin blonde hair. He was handsome. "You're the most handsome man I've ever laid eyes on Phantom. Your scars tell of the struggles you went through. And hopefully in time you will tell me your life story." I said and smiled softly. "I must go. You must go. Go to bed and come back tomorrow." He said turning away. I stood and walked through the tunnels to my room and slept till the morning.
I woke and yawned loudly. "Luna!" Raoul called out at my door. "A moment please." I called out and grabbed my robe. After it was on I opened my door. "Oh....you've just woken?" He asked and I nodded. "Christine isn't in her room." He said with a panicked look. I put on a surprised look and gasped. In reality I knew where she was but I was a bit angry the Phantom hadn't taken her back to her room last night. "Has anyone any clue where she might be?" I asked. He shook his head. "I should get back to looking." He said and ran off. I closed the door with a bit more force than necessary. "Phantom!" I said loudly. "Yes Little Mouse?" He asked as I realized with glee my hair had covered my scar from Raoul. I spun around to meet the Phantom's gaze as he was directly behind me. I quickly made my hair a little more tame. "Where is Christine?" I asked angrily. "I have just put her in her room. She....did not have the same kind reaction to my face as you did." He said and looked away. "Well she should have. Growing up with a deformed sister should have taught her a bit more respect." I said now mad at Christine. He sighed. "It isn't too late. I can still win her heart." He said. 'There it is....that unfamiliar feeling.' I thought as my chest tightened painfully. "I will try to help you Phantom but I can promise nothing." I said a but strained.
