Mary led him to her office which was just a few doors away from the studio. When they got in she closed the door behind her before turning to face him.
He stood directly in front of her, Mary could feel his breath on her face.William stood there staring at he, he didn't know why he hadn't moved to make room for her but instead had stood behind her watching as she closed the door and when she had turned to look at him he had been stunned.
She opened her mouth slightly about to say something as his mouth came crashing on hers. Mary knew she should push him away but she couldn't, she needed this kiss in fact she welcomed it.
She felt his hands move to her as he undid her ponytail and her hair fell to her back.
He ran his hands through them as he stroked her mouth with his tongue.
"Have been looking for you" he said as he pulled away from her.
Mary stood there staring at him as she tried to catch her breath.
She adjusted herself and moved to her table.William watched her as she went to her table, he followed her behind and took a seat on the opposite side of the table.
"Mr McCain...." She started
"Please call me William" he said
Mary stood still for a second testing the name in her head.
"Well William, I want you to understand that what just happened was a mistake. So was Vegas, I was drunk"
William sat there staring at her. Well this wasn't going as he planned
"Maybe I need to get you drunk more often" he said calmly
Mary sighed with fustration. She needed to trend carefully they still had to ask him to do a photo shoot for the magazine.
"I'm really sorry William, if there's anything I can do to let you know how sorry I am and for the stress have put you through let me know"
"Well you could talk my parents and explain the whole situation, then the rest of the world"
Mary sat there, speechless. He wanted her to talk to the press? But she couldn't. That would mean attracting attention to herself and besides, she was the press. She worked for a effing magazine.
William looked at her for a few seconds before standing up to take his leave.
"Well Miss Cruz, I'll advice you to prepare for a wedding" he said as he turned to leave.Betty found Mary a few hours later in her office sitting there with her hands on her head and her head bowed, deep in thought.
She touched her friend on the shoulder to make her presence known.
Mary jumped startled, only to come face to face with betty.
"We're done with the shoot" she informed her.
"Oh God, I'm so sorry. I totally forgot, how long have I been in here?"she asked
"Two hours now"
Mary ran her fingers through her hair and noticed it was still loose.
She watched as Betty took a seat opposite her.
"So are you gonna tell me what's going on?"
Mary sighed. "He's the one Betty"
"Which one?"
"The one from Vegas" she said simply
"OMG. You're the secret bride"
"Yup. I guess I am" she said as her back came in contact with the seat.
"Then we should probably do an exclusive on you. You've been right under our nose since and no one knew"
Mary looked at her irritatingly. Exactly what she had been trying to prevent.
"Not doing an exclusive Betty"
"I know you're not, but I like the idea" she said smiling. "So what exactly is the problem, I thought you wanted to get married and now you are you should be happy"
"I'm not married betty" she snarled
"Well you are, and you should make the best of it. After all he's a hot billionaire" Betty said as she stood up to leave.
Mary watched her as she closed the door behind her. Then she came back in.
"Don't forget the gala ball tomorrow night" she said smiling as she closed the door behind her.
Oh, shii. Mary thought, she had completely forgotten about the ball and she didn't have anything in mind to wear
