Mother taught me that
A happy ending does not end
With chimes of the church bell.
With a triumphant victory.
Or the melodies of finishing soundtracks.
She taught me that endings could finish with the memory of the journey taken to complete it.
She said:
"Remembering the journey is what makes a 'good old-fashion ending'.
But happy endings finish when another story starts.
And that is half the excitement."
