When sewing, a thimble is used to protect your thumb.
Sometime you hear that ting of the needle hitting the thimble;
Thus giving you that relief knowing you have not harmed yourself.
The needle could possibly slip under the thimble;
Inducing a sudden shock from the pinched pain.
You could also lose the thimble;
Therefore creating two possible resolutions: continue to sew or find a new, or the old, thimble casing.
It is comforting to have, but is it really necessary?
This is not about sewing at all, but a timely guard.
