The Relationship Status (1)

Jordan

"Donnie! Where the frickity frack are you!? I need you to be my wingman and you're half an hour late! I'm losing my girlfriend to Joey and I'm standing here on the sidelines with Stephanie all depressed and what not!" I screamed into my phone with Donnie on the other line.

"Stephanie!? Aw sh** ! Tell her I'll be there soon! I just got stuck in a little traffic..."

"What? How? There's no traffic! But get here fast! Stephanie's just sitting by the punch bowl like she's taking shots."

"Just tell her what I told you and end the call I'm almost here!"

"Ok! I hope you mean it! And what did u tell me?" I fluttered my eyes on the other line.

"I don't know! What did I say, Jordan!?" He asked sarcastically.

"Ummm...... Bye!" And I hung up on him.

I turned around and Stephanie was standing right behind me. I jumped a little and she grabbed my collar and brought me to her face so close that I'm pretty sure I saw the pores on her nose.

"What did he say, Jordan?" She growled her breath at me.

My eyes automatically fluttered since an eyelash flew in it. "I, I really don't know, Stephanie!"

"Ugh! You're useless!" And she flung me to the ground, nudging my head on the wall.

"Oof!" I said as I crashed to the floor. I looked up and saw Stephanie stomp back over to the punch bowl and take another "shot" of punch.

"Oh, Donnie... Where are you..?" I whispered to myself as I got up.

I saw Jennifer and Joey talking a few feet away from me. Joey was teasing Jenn while they danced.

"Oh! Oh here he comes, Jennifer! Jordan's gonna give you his jacket!" He twirled her around as she laughed.

"Joey, that sounds a little 50's doesn't it? I don't know if he --"

"Oh, trust me Jennifer! He's gonna do it! I bet he chose just the jacket to swaddle you in!"

"Oh, stop it, Joe!" She gave him a quick love-tap.

"No, you stop it!" He flirtily laughs back.

"No. Seriously Joe, stop." She said a little more annoyed this time.

He got the hint (Thank God), "Alright! Alright! Then here we go!!" And he twirled her around one last time, but let go so she landed right into my arms.

We looked deep into each other's eyes and Jennifer just said, "Hhi.."

Nervously, I replied, "Hhi.." In the same tone.

I kinda liked her holding onto my chest for dear life, but I saw Joey over her shoulder running up the stage and announced into the microphone, "Alrighty, folks! This is the last slow dance of the night so grab your partner and just take in the moment..." Joey began to sing 'Where Do I Go From Here' and I brought Jennifer out to the floor. I looked from the corner of my eye and saw Stephanie sulking more than ever at this point, since she was the only girl in the whole room without somebody to slow dance with. And that's when the gym doors opened and he walked in.
