Celesta

Chapter 2

   Eight years passed and during this time she learned everything she knew from Nuria and became very close to Puck but she had no clue of her real parents and that she in fact possessed magic. She would go hunting mice with Puck and play in the fields a lot. She was living a happy life even if she knew Nuria was not her real mother.

One night while Puck and Celesta were playing in the fields, they saw Nuria running towards them and arrows being shot behind her. She ran towards Puck and Celesta as fast as she could. When she got to them she grabbed Celesta and threw her on her back and shouted to Puck,

"Run!" and they started running as fast they could away from the hunters.

"What's going on? Why are we running?" asked Puck who didn't understand what was happening.

"H-hunters! They're chasing us! We have to run!" Nuria stuttered with fear.

   Celesta looked back and saw a group of men come out of the forest on horses.

"I see them!" Celesta shouted.

"Puck! Take Celesta and go hide in the long grass!" Nuria shouted.

"What about you mom!" Puck asked.

"I'll distract them while you go hide!" Nuria replied.

"That's too dangerous mom!" Puck shouted in fear.

"Just do what I said and go hide!" Nuria shouted with anger in her voice.

   Puck couldn't refuse his mother so he ran close enough to Nuria for Celesta to jump on to his back. Celesta looked back again to check where the hunters were.

"They're right behind us!" she shouted in fear.

"Puck go now! From now on you'll have to protect her!" she shouted with a smile on her face and tears in her eyes. She then ran in a different direction while luring the hunters away from Puck and Celesta. Puck then ran and hid in the tallest grass he could find.

"Do you think Nuria will be ok?" Celesta asked while hugging Puck tightly.

"I don't know," Puck replied with a sad look on his face.

   They heard the hunters shouting and horses galloping. Then after a while it started to get dark and they couldn't hear them anymore.

"I can't hear them anymore. Are they gone?" Celesta asked.

"I think so," Puck answered.

"Lets go look for Nuria then. I'm sure she got away and is hiding somewhere," Celesta said cheerfully.

"Ya, I'm sure your right," Puck also said with a smile.

   They started looking for Nuria when Celesta came across a puddle of blood. Then all of a sudden everything went black for her.

"Wha-what's happening?" Celesta asked in fear.

She then saw an image of Nuria running away from the hunters.

"Nuria!" shouted Celesta.

   One of the hunters got closer and closer to Nuria until he slashed her with his sword. Celesta was in shock and started running towards Nuria but before she could reach her everything went black again.

"Est!...lest!...Celest!" was all Celesta could hear.

   Then when she opened her eyes, she was laying on the floor with Puck beside her, crying and calling her name.

"Celest! You're ok right? Where did all this blood come from? Why were you past out on the ground?" Puck kept asking while looking at the blood

   Celesta then remembered seeing Nuria get killed. She got up and quickly looked around her. She then realized that the puddle of blood that was beside her was where Nuria was killed and she burst into tiers.

"Wha-what's wrong? Why are you crying? Are you hurt somewhere?" Puck was so shocked by Celesta's sudden out burst of tears that he didn't know what to do.

"Pu-Puck! I-I saw Nu-Nuria get k-killed!" Celesta blurted out while crying her eyes out.

"What? How is that possible? We were hiding and she was too far for us to be able to see anything," Puck replied with shock.

"I-I don't know how b-but I saw her! A-and I couldn't d-do anything!" Celesta replied while still crying.

   A fire then started to form around her. Celesta was too busy crying to realize the fire but Puck immediately reacted and dragged her away from it.

"What in the world was that? Where did that fire even come from?" Puck asked.

   He then looked at Celesta who was still crying. It was then that Puck realized that Celesta was not just an ordinary eight year old. Puck then grabbed Celesta and placed her on his back.

"Don't worry Celesta, I'll protect you from now on. I promise," Puck told her while starting to walk back home.

   Celesta just hugged him and cried herself to sleep on his back. That night Puck slept with her the hole night and never left her side. It was that day that a tremendous power was awakened and a shiver went down every magic users back.

   Puck and Celesta also grew hatred towards mankind after that night. They lived in the forest and would not let anyone enter. Celesta thought herself self defence and how to make and use a bow and arrows. Puck tried improving his hunting skills and never left Celesta's side after that night
