________________________________'Steady Cas.' Deans hand wrapped around Cas', his arms around him pointing the gun forwards.
'I don't understand why this is necessary Dean.' Cas turned his head, their faces now only millimetres apart.
'You're not an angel anymore Cas.' Dean hesitated, 'You need to learn how to shoot a gun.'
The room went silent, Cas regaining his focus on the target board.
Cas stepped backwards slightly as the gun fired, stepped onto the edge of Deans foot.
'Sorry.' He muttered before look back up at the target board.
The bullet he had fired had skimmed the edge of the board.
'Don't worry about it.' Dean laughed, 'Took Kevin at least eight shots before he even got close to the board.'
Cas smiled as he lifted his arms once more, Dean correcting his posture to match his own, 'Go for it.'
Pulling the trigger Cas stepped back once more.
'Don't step back when you fire.' Dean took the gun from Cas' hands, Cas stepping aside as Dean shot at the board multiple times. Hitting the centre every time.
'Here.' He handed Cas the gun who took his place and fired once more.
'Better.' Dean smiled, 'try holding it like this.' Dean stood behind him, his arms over Cas' as he adjusted his grip on the weapon.
They were now stood very close, Dean directly behind Cas and as he shot at the board, the door behind them opened.
'Hey.' Sam walked past them, a large box in his arms, 'What're you doing?' He laughed as he placed it on the floor looking confused at the both of them.
Dean stepped backwards realising he was still fairly close to Cas, 'Teaching Cas how to shoot.'
'Okay.' Sam looked at the board, 'Not bad.' He patted Cas on the shoulder before walking out of the room.
'Okay let's try this one more time.'
'Okay.' Cas narrowed his eyes pointing the gun forward, this time standing firmly as he fired.
'Okay.' Dean took the gun from Cas' hands, sitting down across the room.
'Dean...' Cas stood awkwardly in the centre of the room.
'What?'
'How old were you when you learnt this?' Cas sat beside Dean at the table.
'I was around 6-7 when my dad first took me shooting.' He Laughed, 'We used beer bottles as targets.' He held his beer bottle in the air before taking a swig.
Cas nodded, not allowing himself to ask anymore questions.
'I still don't understand why this is necessary.' Cas rolled a lone bullet along the table, 'I have my angel blade, why would I need to use a gun?'
Dean sighed, 'Sometimes you'll find yourself in situations where a gun is necessary Cas.' He looked up from the table, 'It's not always the best thing to do but you've gotta survive.'
Cas nodded, finally beginning to understand.
