So this is a high school AU and I realise my one-shots are really short so I'm going to attempt to make this one longer? Enjoy I guess..? Thanks for reading. ! :D
________________________________Dean stood leaning against the impala, cigarette poised in his mouth as he slid his keys in his jacket pocket.
'Take that cigarette out of your mouth young man. You are on school property.' A man began to shout, 'you know the rules!' He marched over, clipboard in hand obviously fuming.
Dean dropped the cigarette and stamped his foot against the floor.
'Thank You!'
Dean smirked, waving as he walked across the parking-Lott towards his friends. Benny walked over, punching Dean in the arm jokingly, 'where were you last night?' He began, 'the party was great!'
'I was busy.' Dean lied.
'Doing what?' Jo laughed
'I was just busy okay.' Dean stuttered, 'anyway, we better get to class.'
They all shrugged, nodding.
The corridors were full of students both new and old, majority either rummaging in their lockers or talking with their friends. Dean continued to walk and to his surprise, walked straight into someone.
'I'm so sorry.' The boy began
He was a small boy, particularly scrawny and obviously new to town. Picking up his books, he looked up at Dean who hadn't spoke.
'Oh right, sorry.' Dean murmured, embarrassed.
'Totally my fault, I wasn't looking where I was going.' He laughed pushing his glasses up his nose, 'well I better be going.'
Dean watched him walk down the corridor towards a bunch of lockers, to which he noticed him being greated by a small group of students. He knew them, he'd seen them during class. Charlie Bradbury, Kevin Tran weren't particularly popular but seemed nice enough.Dean, now sat at his assigned desk at the back of the class yet again noticed the boy he had before bumped into. He walked into the room, book poised in his hand scanning the room for an available seat.
Deans heart began to race as the boy walked towards him, placing his bag on the desk to his left.
'Oh hey.' He mumbled, 'I'm Castiel.'
'Hey Castiel, I'm Dean.' Dean reached out his arm offering the boy a hand shake to which he obliged.
Dean watched the boy throughout class, noticing the profoundly detailed sketches covering his page.
'Those are really good.' Dean whispered, nudging him.
'Thank you.' Castiel replied obviously proud. As the bell rang, Dean followed Castiel down the corridor towards the sports field. He then saw him slide under the bleachers un-noticed.
He stood for a moment, unsure whether to follow the boy.
'You can come over you know.' Castiel shouted.
Dean slowly walked towards him hesitantly.
'Hey Casti-'
'Call me Cas.' He laughed flicking through the he book in his hand, without looking up at Dean.
'Okay Cas.' Dean sat, crossed legged beside him awkwardly, 'what're you doing under here?'
'Reading.'
They both say in silence for a moment, unsure what to say or do. Cas continued to read his book.
'You new around here?' Dean questioned.
'Kinda,' Cas muttered, pulling his sleeves over his clammy hands, 'I moved here a few weeks ago.'
'Oh. Where are you from?'
'Georgia, you?'
'Wow. I've only ever lived in Texas.'They had been sat together for around 45 minutes when the bell rang for lunch. Dean stood, brushing the dirt from his jeans and picking up his bag, 'You coming?'
'What? Where?' Cas asked confused.
'For food..? It's Lunch.' Dean laughed
'Oh yeah, sure.'
They walked to the cafeteria together and towards Jo and Benny. Cas could hear the distant sound of Charlie's voice beckoning him over to join her, but he continued to walk with Dean.
'Who's this?' Jo asked
'This is Cas.' Dean introduced
'Hey.' Cas mumbled, looking at Jo and then back at the floor.
'Don't be shy. Come sit with Us.' She waved towards the table.
For the rest of lunch Cas sat with Dean and his friends awkwardly, not eating or saying a word. Every so often Dean would glance in Cas' direction across the table, making Cas' heart pound within his chest. There was something about him, something Cas couldn't get enough of.
As the bell rang for class, Dean turned to Cas and said, 'Do You want a ride home later?'
Cas hesitated for a millisecond, he hardly knew Dean yet seemed perfectly willing to get in his car. Why?
'Sure.'
'Cas you're so quiet. Are you okay?'
'I'm fine Dean,' Cas exclaimed, 'I'll meet you in the parking-Lott later okay?'
'Okay.'
All Dean could think about was Cas. Every minor detail seemed to intreag him even more. The small freckles which spread across his nose, his large glasses which would define his sparkling blue eyes even more so, his thick black hair which made him look as if he had just woken up. The list was endless.
Dean had always known he had thought of boy in the same way he had thought of girls, but did Cas? The overwhelming fear of rejection had now taken over, yet he regretted nothing.Cas walked out onto the parking-Lott alone, a book in his hand searching for Dean. He turned his head, afraid Dean had forgotten him. This was until he saw Dean slouched against his car gazing at Him.
'Hey.' Dean gleamed
'Hi.'
Dean opened the car door and beckoned Cas to get in, closing the door behind him.
'So where do you live?' Dean asked, taking his keys out of pocket.
'Two streets away. 174 bankler street.'
'Ah.' Dean exhaled.
The car ride was quiet enjoyable, the wind rushing in through the window and brushing against Cas' clammy face.'Hey you just went pas-' Cas began.
'I thought we could go out for a milkshake. You like milkshake right?'
'Strawberry.' Cas laughed
The car had now stopped, yet neither had gotten out. Dean turned to Cas,
'You know..'
'Yes?' Cas looked confused
Dean turned to look out onto the road yet again unable to muster the words he so obviously searched for.
Cas stared at Dean. He knew.
He reached out his hand, cupping Deans face and bringing it towards his. They're lips crashed together before either knew what was happening.
'I'm... I'm sorr-'
'Don't be.' Dean smiled, placing his hand in Cas', gently returning the kiss and reaching for the car door.
Cas exhaled rather loudly, he was so relieved. He could hear his heart in his ears. Dean opened the door allowing Cas to step out before subtly taking his hand within his own and walking into the diner.
'Two strawberry milkshakes please.'
