22. bully

they follow jace out of the cafeteria. his heart is pounding.

this won't end well and he can feel it his bones.

his thoughts are confirmed when jace brings them to fiona's locker.

the words are written in sickly, bright red: 'slut'

fiona's face is pale, her mouth open,

and she ran out.

he followed her, and after a few minutes of searching he found her.

she was crying in the janitors closet, her eyes red and puffy.

he came in, closing the door behind him.

he didn't say anything, he just walked up to her and held her close.

fiona, voice wobbly and breaking, said

"how did she find out?"
