Chapter 5

EricaPOV(Future)

"When the hell were you going to tell me that Erik was here at the school!" Sofia whispered in my ear.

She weaves herself through all the other children in the hall that were on their way to their next class and caught up to me, trying to keep up with my steps. I turned to her and was going to ask her how she found out, but she raised her hand.

"My niece told me about the floating man that was outside her room juggling metal balls in the air with magic. I put two and two together." She said.

I sighed and turned my head to look straight. Storm came into my view and sent me a smile that I returned. My fellow white haired mutant then greeted my sister. Sofia said her hello back but kept her eyes on me.

"I was going to handle this myself." I told her.

"After all these years now Lensher shows up, what does he want?" Sofia asked. I clenched my jaw. She grabbed me by the arm and took me to the side away from the hallway traffic.

"What did he do?"

"He told Eve that Charles wasn't her real father. I'm pissed that he couldn't have done this any other way. But no, not Erik. He's going to stir up problems that I don't want Eve to worry about. Not now." I said.

I run a hand down my face. Sofia places a hand on my shoulder and looks me in the eyes. Hers were serious.

"So are we gonna kick his ass?"

I rolled my eyes at her. I turned on my heel and started to walk again. She caught up with me, her curly hair bouncing with every step she took.

"I'm gonna take your silence as "Yes, little sister, we are"."

We got to the stairs. I got up on the first step before turning back to her to look at her.

"I'm going up into Eve's room. Maybe he'll stop by again. You go and check around the school for anything suspicious." I say.

"You got it boss!"

With a salute Sofia turned and heads through the front door. I continue going up the stairs. When I get to Eve's room I walk straight for the window and push back the curtain and peering out. Five minutes passed and still nothing. I leaned my head up against it and closed my eyes.

"Erica! I got him!" Sofia voice yelled in my mind.

I got off of the window and speed out of the room. When I made it outside I went straight to the back of the school. Standing next to the tie swing on the large oak tree was Sofia and Erik. She kept her gaze on him not loosing concentration three rings of fire trapping his body inside. He stood perfectly still, dressed in a coat and turtle neck, with dress pants and shoes. His gray hair reflecting the light off the flames.

"Erik." I hissed.

He turned his head to look at me. A small smirk on his wrinkled face. The flames dismisses as I can closer. My hands were balled at my sides.

"Oh, you gon' get it now." Sofia said.

I shushed my sister who bit her lip to hold back her smirk. I turned back to Erik who was still looking at me.

"What. The. Hell!" I said.

"Erica, you seem very upset." Erik says.
