Chapter 6

EricaPOV

The rain had finally stopped and the sun was shining. I remained outside while Hank went back to his class, explaining that he still had to clean up an accidental explosion...that my sister caused. Along with giving Scott these sunglasses he made for him. But he promise that he'd come back. I sat on a hill palming at the grass. The water in my hair began to thaw from my white locks, which had grown back to being past my shoulders. I ran my fingers through it. I'd have to fix that later.

"Promise me you won't tell him."

"I won't. It's not my place to tell. But you should, and I'm hoping that you will."

I looked over at the school. I'd have to tell him sooner or later. I rest my chin on my hand and sighed.

"Okay, what going on?!"

Sofia was marching over to me with a determined look on her face. She had a smudge of black on her left cheek. I gave a small smirk as she came near.

"Morning to you too, firecracker." I say, using my other hand and tapping a finger on my face. She lifted her arm and wiped the smudge off, scowling at me.

"Shut up! It's was an accident! And we're not going to talk about me. We're going to talk about you. Hank told me that there's something wrong with you."

I grabbed her hand pulled her down to sit next to me. I placed my hand over hers.

"Well...you know how you've always wanted to be an Auntie?" I asked. Sofias eyes went wide.

"Are you--"

"No. But I was."

"Oh." She her shoulders slumped. "When?"

"Years ago." Her eyebrows furrowed. Then she got up from the ground and starred down at me in shock.

"Years? YEARS?! Where you ever going to tell me?!" She yelled causing me to flinch and look around. Lucky for us not a lot of people where outside.
