He gives you a small wave from across the classroom and you smile in return. When the bell rings you stop to talk to the teacher and he slips out of the classroom, unsure whether or not to wait for you.

After clearing things up with the teacher, you walk to your locker. A bunch of your friends walk over and begin to talk to you. He slowly strolls over and leans against a locker a couple of feet away. He shoves his hands into his pockets and stands looking at the floor. You notice him in the corner of your eye and quickly finish up getting your things. Your friends walk away and you close your locker. He walks over and gives you a small grin. You smile and hold out your hand, palm up. He takes his hand out of his pocket and puts it in yours. The both of you stroll down the hallway slowly.

You both don’t speak much as you walk out of the school doors. Just by looking at each other you agree on where to go and head over to his house. You go to his backyard and lay a blanket down. Each of you set up your own homework, finishing it quickly. You’re now lying on the blanket, staring up at the clouds. You lay your head on his stomach and both just stare up at the clouds. He sighs heavily and you look over at him questioningly. He’s already looking at you when you glance over. You push yourself up and rest your head against his shoulder. He looks at you as if asking permission, and you smile in reply. You both lean up and kiss, short, but sweet and meaningful. You lay there for hours, talking and laughing.

As it begins to get dark and buggy outside you decide to relocate and pack up your things, going inside. You both climb out his window and sit, staring up at the stars, picking out the few constellations each of you knows. You both just end up staring at the moon, your faces illuminated lightly by its glow.
