You turned the page of the large book, leaning back in the comfortable couch located at the library. At the table next to it, your boyfriend sat, a pile of books surrounding.

You watched as his eyes glittered with interest and curiosity. He glanced up, feeling your gaze, and grinned. You blushed, and looked back at your book.

There were footsteps, and then the couch dipped and your boyfriend wrapped an arm around you, a book in his lap.

He pushed his black-rimmed glasses up and grinned at you. You smiled also and leaned into him.

“How’s the research going?” you questioned quietly after a few minutes of silence.

His face lit up as he went into depth, explaining his research on a certain war, which he was doing for extra credit.

You nodded enthusiastically, finding his excitement adorable.

After he finished, you both went silent again, continuing in your reading. He shuffled around uncomfortably and seemed to be deciding something, glancing up he met your eyes and had an unsure glint in his gaze.

“Here, I have a book you might like,” he whispers, taking your hand and leading you towards the shelves.

He runs his finger along the spines of the books, and almost hops when he finds the one he’s looking for.

He pulls it out and hands it to you.

You take the old book into your hands, your eyes analyzing and wonder filled. You run it along the spine, your fingers brushing the worn out leather binding,

You open it and leaf through the dry parchment, the words slightly faded.

“It’s a love story,” he laughed, “Kind of reminded me of ours…” he murmured after.

Your face flushed and you grinned like an idiot, “That’s sweet,” you comment quietly, “…Why were you reading a love story?” you giggled.

“What, I can be manly and still read love stories!” he whisper-yelled in defense.

“Don’t worry, I’m not judging,” you tease and lean up, kissing him lightly on the lips, he blushes and doesn’t meet your eyes.

“Come on, let’s go back and read,” he grins pulling you along behind him.
