I wrote this, and then realized that I'd written one having to do with rain previously... But, I liked how it turned out (though it is a bit long)... so I decided to keep it...
Hope you guys like it!

You sat with a few of your friends at the corner of the cafeteria, finally giving up on searching for him, knowing all to well he was probably off somewhere playing sports with the guys. Getting up to throw out your trash, you turn away from the garbage can and stumble into him.
Him being the boy that everyone seemed to be crushing on; the boy that everyone seemed to love… and he was your boyfriend.
He smirks; you admire his hair, which is perfectly swooped to the side.
“Sorry,” you murmur blushing, as a bunch of his friends walks up behind him.
“No problem, babe,” he smiles, airing out his jersey by fluttering it with a hand, “Oh, I just got back from gym, so excuse the stench,” he grins slightly wider, showing off his perfectly straight and shining white teeth.
His friends are all talking loudly and obnoxiously, and teasing him as they ‘whisper’ (not really) to each other, but he continues to gaze at you.
A blonde bimbo walks up and begins blabbering away, stepping in between you and your boyfriend. You step back in surprise, and sigh as the blonde’s friends walk over as well, shooting daggers in your direction with their eyes.
“I’ll talk to you later, when you’re less… busy,” you say with a small smile, growing uncomfortable as his guy friends begin to make kissy faces behind him, and the popular girls flirt away.
You move to step around him, and your arm brushes his as you pass. He tries to reach out to you as you walk, but you just ignore it and pretend that you hadn’t noticed… that’s what you get for dating the most popular guy in school… who just happens to have dated almost all of the girls in our grade… why’d you have to fall for such an impossible guy?
After the bell rings, indicating the end of the day, you quickly make your way to your locker.
Your mom had texted you earlier and apologized about not being able to pick you up because she was stuck at work, and your dad was away on business.
You didn’t own a car, but you’d been saving up for one for this exact reason.
Your phone had also alerted you of rain and a flood warning… meaning it would most likely begin to pour while you were walking, if you didn’t hurry.
You waved off your friends, apologizing as you rushed away, and left quickly, speed walking down the sidewalk.
You weren’t even half way home when you felt the first drop. You held out your hand to make sure you weren’t imagining things, and with a groan, you realized that it was indeed beginning to rain. You pulled your hood up and walked faster, the streets already growing less crowded as the sky grew ever darker with storm clouds.
A flash of lightning struck through the air, illuminating the cloudy sky for only a moment.
You jumped in surprise and cursed at the sky for not waiting ten more minutes. The rain began to increase in strength, the large droplets plummeting heavily to the earth. The sidewalk began to gain dark grey circles, until the entire surface was a deep grey instead of its usual lighter hue.
