When the Incubus Calls

As Michelle walked away Sarah grabbed my hand and started to pull me towards the spot we were going to go eat. After a few minutes had passed she had realized that as I was walking directly beside her. She was still holding my hand.

"I am so sorry I didn't even realize I was holding your hand." She said embarrassed.

"It's okay I didn't realize it either until you had said something." I lied, smiling.

I didn't want her to know that I knew. I'm sure it's already obvious that I fell for her but it doesn't seem she has realized it. Which I'm guessing is good, maybe.

"Sometimes when I get angry or upset I do things out of habit and don't realize it. Once again I am so sorry."

"Like I said it's okay. I understand."

"Let's sit down and eat."

We sat at this bench under a full grown oak. It was very nicely shaded and cool.

"This is some great protection."

"What?" Sarah asked caught off guard.

"From the sun. This is some great protection from the sun." I said quickly and panicky.

I have no idea why I was so worried.

"Oh yeah it is. Especially for this Texas heat. I like the heat though, so I guess it doesn't bother me that much."

"I'm use to the heat. I really enjoy it too."

"Where are you from?"

"California."

"That's cool. I've always wanted to go. Where in Cali?"

"LA."

"Cool."

We talked about everything. Movies, music, tv shows, anything you could think of. I just kept staring at her as she spoke. Her beauty is so captivating. As we continued to talk throughout lunch I kept zoning in and out of the conversation.

"I guess it's time to head to our next class." I said as the bell rang.

"I think you'll like Ms. Demlet. She's a pretty chill teacher." Sarah said as we walked.

"It's always good to have some chill teachers. Especially at the end of the day."

God, why did everything I say sound so cheesy and stupid.

"You have no idea. Especially with the class it is. AV is going to be one of the easiest classes you ever take! Well then again maybe not. I have been doing film for several years now."

"Wow. That's pretty impressive."

We threw our trash away and headed to class.
