I heard the class door open. I looked up only to see him. I don't know what it was about him. Was it because he was an outsider? He has such a mysterious aura. Maybe it was the look in his eyes? They seemed to be full of pain like a lost and terrified puppy. Could it be his physique? He is tall, blue eyes, dirty blonde shoulder length hair, thin yet muscular. What it is I couldn't tell you. All I know is that I have never felt so attracted to somebody in my life.
"Michael I presume?"
"Yes ma'am."
Respectful too.
"Hmm, Sarah........Sarah?"
"Yes ma'am?" I said finally coming to. God that was embarrassing. Oh god did everybody see me staring at him?
"Does anybody sit beside you?"
"No Mrs. Preker."
"I thought that chick sat right there. Uhh what's her name? Micky? Milly? Michelle! Yeah that chick."
"That was last year Chris. This is the first day of school. Have you officially fried out your brain or you just that stupid?"
From the corner of my eye I saw Michael chuckle at my comment.
"Enough Sarah."
"Sorry Mrs. Preker."
"Alright well now that we have that settled, Michael why don't you have a sit over by Sarah please."
"Yes ma'am."
I watched as he walked over to take a seat by me. My heart is pounding. I feel as if everybody in the room can hear it. My face. Oh god my face I can feel how red it is. My face was burning as if it is the sun and everybody was staring.
I glanced over only to see him pulling off his black hoodie and his shirt coming up exposing his abs.
"It's hot in here, huh?"
"Sorry, what?" I asked as I snapped out of the trance he put me in.
"I said its hot in here." He whispered while chuckling.
He had just the sweetest most contagious laugh and smile one could ever witness.
"Yeah. Might want to skip the jacket in this room. She likes to keep it pretty warm."
"Will do. I'll keep that in mind."
Wait. What did I just do? Why did I just tell him to not wear a jacket? I swear sometimes I'm stupid. That's like this morning I'm glad the bell rang when it did. I didn't want to have to tell Michelle why I was blushing when I looked at him in his car.
Class dragged on as any usual school day would.
"Alright class, yes it's the first day of school, but this is AP English 4 so before the bell rings I will assign everybody partners and I want this project done and presentable three Wednesday's from now. I want a finalized report on paper and a short video about the author. Extra credit will be turning a scene or poem of theirs into a short video as well. Extra points will be determined by quality so make sure everything is presentable."
How can somebody go on and on like that? She started assigning partners to everybody.
"...and last but not least Sarah and Michael, you two will be partners. I'm giving y'all Shakespeare." Mrs. Preker stated as the bell rang.
I have never been more excited yet nervous at the same time about a partner.
"But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?"
"Act two scene two. You know your Shakespeare. This should be easy then." I said as we walked to the door.
"Well just because something should doesn't mean it will."
"True true. Well what class do you have next?" I asked as we stood by my locker.
"Mr. Pizowskie. AP Chem 3."
Wow smart. He's got to be the whole package.
"I have him next to. Let me see your schedule."
He leaned forward a bit to reach in his back pocket to grab it then leaned back. Those pants defiantly really did him some justice.
"Here you go." He said as he handed it over to me.
"Wow that's weird. We have the same schedule for both days."
"Well good. I'll at least know one kind soul in all my classes."
