Chapter 9: Final Countdown

*Mikayla POV*

Thursday, went pretty well. You know, it was really just the usual except Cameron was at our house for breakfast again. Weird, oh well. It’s not like I’m arguing! Jessica hasn’t talked to Seth since that night. It’s pretty obvious that she wants to contact him. It’s killing her and I think she’s over Mark, now that she knows who really loves her. Not likes, loves. I try to talk to her about it but she just either; flips me off, tell me to mind my own business, doesn’t say anything to me at all, or just walks away with her fingers in her ears screaming, ‘La la la la’ all through the house. So basically she’s flipping me off in different ways. So, I went to Cameron, since he’s Seth’s brother. He told me that Seth was acting exactly the same as Jess, but worse. I didn’t ask him what he, meant by worse, but I’m sure it wasn’t good, which is why I didn’t ask. We came up with a plan to get them to talk things out because we don’t want our siblings moping around forever and bringing everyone else down. Then we were all at school, doing the same thing that we have to do every single day. My mom asked me how school was yesterday and I said, “Obviously not good enough, because we have to go back tomorrow.” I thought it was funny. My mom didn’t. She went on a rant telling me that since I don’t have a talent, I need to focus and work hard in school. ‘If only she knew’, I said in my head.  I have soccer anyways, why would I need singing when I am definitely on my way to a scholarship. Mothers. Then I had soccer practice. All we did was run some drills, get to know the formation and where we play, who’s starting tomorrow, run, and watch game tape, run, and then we all headed off to my house for the annual season-kickoff-pasta-sleepover-party. It was always at my house, since we had the space. We actually have a sleepover room, with built-in bunks, sleeping bags, pillows, snack kitchen, and of course a giant screen for movies. We aren’t sleeping tonight. I invited Brooke and Chelsea because they also come every year and it wouldn’t be a sleepover without them. Did I mention that since I was having people over, my brothers get to invite people? Yeah, so Cameron and Seth will be there. This was all part of Cameron and I’s Master Seth and Jess plan. I think I should start getting ready for that now.

*Chase POV*

My sister is having that lame party she throws every year tonight. So I called Cameron to have him come and put me and Hayden out of our misery. He picks up on the second ring, “What’s up bro?” “My sister’s having that sleepover again, want to come over?” “Sure man. Can I bring Seth? He’s been…distracted.” He asks. “Yeah, Landon wants to see him anyway.” “Alright bro, see you soon.” He hangs up.

*DING DONG*

Great one of the girls is here. I go to open the door and when I do, I see the most beautiful girl I have seen in my entire life. And I have seen some lookers and dated them too. She says, “Hi, I’m here for Mikayla’s party.” I woke up from my daze. “Umm, yeah. I’ll show you to the room.” She walks in and I close the door and walk her upstairs. To my surprise, Mikayla is already in there setting up with Brooke, Chelsea, and Brittany. “Richards! You’re here early!” Richards, last name I hope. “And I see you’ve met Chase. Richards meet Chase, Chase meet Richards, or Madison.” Madison, that’s much better. “Hey, it’s nice to meet you.” She said with a sweet smile. “Yeah, you too.” Then I turned around and before I could even get to my room…

*DING DONG*

“Seriously! Oh hey, Cam, Seth.” Thank god. “Dude, who’d you think it was?” Cameron said and slapped me on the back and walked right into my house. I need to get closer to her, to Madison I mean, but I don’t know how. So I go to the man himself, Hayden. We don’t share a room, both of our messes together would be… bad. I go and open his door and see Brooke and him, in his bed, making out. “What the hell is going on here?”
