Clay was all over (Y/n)'s hands, arms, and even smudged all over the face and the front of her shirt. Her foot steadily pressed down on the pedal and the wheel in front of her started spinning once again. Her fingers traced along the clay, adding curves to the bland cylinder on front of her. She was oblivious to the person watching her from the doorway. She gradually withdrew her hands from the clay, dipped them in more water, and then began caressing the spinning substance once more.
After watching for a while, the white-haired boy leaning against the Dorr frame smiled. He was also so fainted when he would watch her work. Her hands moved in a practiced rythym that was so enchantingly elegant. It was almost as beautiful as when she fight. Everything about the (e/c) eyed beauty in from of him was mesmerizing, but he would never tell her that. When she withdrew her hands a second time and wiped her brow with the back of her arm, he piped up.
"Playing with mud again." He bluntly spoke from the doorway. She flinched.
"Kil!" She yelled, startled. "How long have you been standing there?" As she asked the question she rubbed more water on her palms and set back to changing the shape of the clay. Killua wandered into her studio and pulled up a stool behind her, so he could watch as her hands took control of the clay once more. She used the pedal to slow the wheel.
"Not very long, I just was waiting to speak so that you wouldn't ruin your peice if I startled you." He replied. She stopped the wheel and spun around on her stool to face him.
"I appreciate that. What do you need?" She wiped the palms of her hands on her (color) apron as she spoke.
"I was bored." Was all he said in reply.
"I tell ya what," She started, "if you would go get me some food, maybe I'll let you play with some mud too."
"Really?" He grinned. She had always blown him off when he asked if she would teach him how to make pottery. In all reality he just wanted to see why she loved it so much, but he would never tell her that. He wanted her to love him as much as she loved getting clay all over her face. He even asked her why she enjoyed it so much. Her response was, "It's a form of art where it is acceptable to get covered with mud. How could it not be fun?" That was another thing about her that he loved. Her style, the way she smiled when her face was covered with the grey goop. It was the same smile that shone on her face when it was raining, or when she beat her first opponent at Heaven's Arena (is that right? I can't remember...).
Killua was looking through the fridge, grabbing a couple drinks from the fridge. A can of (f/d) for (Y/n), a couple chocolate bars he found on the counter, and a bagel with cream cheese. He walked back into the studio to see (Y/n) carefully taking her most recent peice off of the wheel. It was a beautiful vase with wide flowing curves and a beautiful rim curling under itself. Truely a work of art.
After they enjoyed their snacks, (Y/n) threw a ball of clay into Killua's hands. He started to walk towards the wheel but she just laughed at him. "When you first started learning fighting techniques I doubt you learned how to take someone's heart out of their chest first. You have to work up to it. First, make a pinch pot." She showed him how to make a pinch pot, and while he was working on his handbuilding, (Y/n) started another peice on the wheel. One step at a time, He thought, one step at a time. You'll be closer to her v efore you know it!Another update! This chapter was inspired by the fact that yesterday was the first time I worked on a pottery wheel. I hope you enjoyed it! Sorry if Killua may have seemed a little out of character... I need to re-watch the anime soon. XD Thank you all for reading, voting, and commenting! Please don't be shy to put suggestions in the comments! ^-^
