EXT. OFFICE BUILDING — NIGHT

...entering the outdoors, still only seeing the sky. We move down and see that the parking lot is empty except for one car. We move down to street level. A figure in a suit passes by us. It's Alexander, carrying a few papers and a small case. We follow him to his car.

He remotely unlocks the car and opens the door to get in. He sits himself down and puts the things in his hand on the seat next to him and turns the ignition. Looks in his rearview mirror. We look at it too. David is sitting in the back seat.

ALEXANDER: Fancy seeing you here.

Alexander gets out of the front seat and leans on his car. We turn and see the door to David's side open. David walks around.

DAVID: Anything?

ALEXANDER: About The Deadly Figure? No. (A beat.) You haven't brought him up in a week.

DAVID: I've been conducting my own search for him.

ALEXANDER: And from you being here I'm guessing your search went nowhere.

David paces.

DAVID: If I don't find my best friend soon, I'm going to go mad.

Alexander puts a hand on David's shoulder. Then proceeds to get into his car. Closes the door and drives off. We do not follow the car. Instead, we stay with David.

David walks over to the office building and begins to wall climb it parkour style. When he reaches the top (the building itself is 3 stories tall), he looks at the view. Sounds of vehicles in the background barely reach our ears.

He walks towards the far end of the roof and stops at the edge. We catch up to him and continue moving forward. What we see is spectacular:

We see the edge of the earth, as if the earth was flat. Nothing but sky in front of us and below us. We are on a floating city!

David enters our view as he zooms past us, falling. We follow at a short distance as he falls. Clouds block our view of what is below us. He passes through the clouds and so do we, temporarily losing sight of him. Then, we leave the clouds.

A beautiful ocean is beneath us. There's a beach not too far away from where we will eventually land. But the earth is barren. Dry grass and crumbling buildings. Not a single person is on the beach, either. What happened to the earth?

We focus on David. One hundred yards before he impacts the water, the dark blue, metallic armor coats his body from head to toe. Then, he slams into the water.

We enter the water soon after. David is out of view. We continue descending into the water, deeper and deeper until it is pitch black.
