"Omg guys! A-RISE just released a new song!" Uriah screams. Everyone one of my friends who are seated at the lunch table, including my boyfriend, looks up.
Shauna literally dragged us here to the cafeteria for lunch today. If not, we would be in the council room, keeping to ourselves.
"What? Really?" He asks.
"Yeah, its called Shocking Party. Listen." Zeke plays the songs.
It's,um, good, I guess?
I feel like bricks are being thrown at me. I look at Christina and Marlene, and well, their faces are no different from mine. I move closer to them.
"Looks like A-RISE has gotten them too." Marlene says, gloomily.
"Seriously?" Christina huffs.
"I swear that production crew is ridiculous." I grab my head in frustration.
"How are we gonna do this?" Marlene asks, her eyes wide.
"I-I don't know." Christina says.
"Hey girls! Have you all listened to it?" I hear Uriah ask me.
"Um, yeah. This morning." I answer, trying my best to put on a smile.
"What are you all talking about?" Tobias asks, looking at me.
"Um...you see...its about Starlight Live-" I am cut off.
"Oh! Starlight Live!" Uriah screams and everyone's attention goes back to him. "I know all the groups. Except for one."
"Which is?" Shauna asks.
"Some group called 'Muse'. Don't know who they are. I think they are newbies?" He replies and my heart sinks. My friends don't know the fact that we are idols. I guess they didn't come to our first performance then. Tobias did but he doesn't know that we are Muse.
I sigh and turn back to my friends.
"Can we go back to the Council Room? I doubt anyone would notice us." I ask.
"Sure." Christina replies.
We quietly stand up and make our way to the Council Room.

"How did we even make it into that list if we aren't even popular?!" I scream.
"Tris. Calm down." Marlene says.
"No one knows us. We are doing this because...because, its our dream..." I feel my eyes getting watery. I am ridiculous. Like a child. "Is it gone?"
"No it is not." Marlene tries to assure me.
"No one can stop us." Chris says.
"It is in these kind of moments that we have to be brave but..." I trail off.
"Yes and that's exactly what we will do." Christina pulls me into a hug. Marlene joins.
"Come on, Tris. You're about to cry." Marlene says when we break apart.
The damned school bell had to ring at that time.
"Time for class. Let's go." I say.

"What kind of live do we actually do?" Chris asks.
"We need something that leaves an impact. Something that makes sure that we are remembered. We have to create something upbeat. That's what they want. You listened to that song this morning. It's definitely impactful." I say. "Not only in terms of the song but also the dance" I look at Christina. "And the costume." I turn to Marlene. "We have to find a way to stand out from others. And that's the only we can do it." I finish.
"Wow, you have really thought about it, haven't you?" Chris asks.
"Of course. It's a dream. Our dream." Mar smiles.
I have decided that I don't care who our rivals are. As long as we are chosen, we show them our stuff. We will conquer Starlight Live.
The door to the Council Room opens, and the rest of the gang steps in.
"Told you they'd be here." Shauna says.
"What are you all even doing?" Tobias asks, coming over to me. He wraps his arms around my waist.
"Discussing usual matters. That's all." Chris says. We have also decided that we won't tell our friends about it until we even achieve something.
"You 3 are always cooped up in this room." Zeke huffs.
"Well, Zeke," Tobias starts. "They are the Student Council heads and they are busy."
"Oh guys, its fine. We are kind of free now." I say, sitting down.
The door opens again and Anne, a student councilor steps in.
"President, the rehearsal for the Student Council Investiture will begin in a while." She says. Wait...WHAT?! I feel my eyes widening in surprise. I totally forgot about the Investiture!
"Uh, yeah. Sure." I say, putting on my best smile.
"Thank you." She says and leaves.
For a moment, there is pure silence. Until I break it.
"I can't believe we forgot about the Investiture!" The 3 of us yell in unison.
For the next few minutes, we just storm around the room finding our things. Like mad women. Our friends just stare at us.
When we are finally done, I let out a huff.
"Guys, I am sorry but all of you are going to have to leave." I say.
"We understand." Tobias smiles.
They all trail out. And I lock the door and rush to the hall. Well, that was something.
