"Taylor, you here?!" I called out walking into my apartment. "Hey buddy, where's Tay?" I knelt down to pet Charlie. Out of my peripheral vision I saw something move on the balcony, I got up and slid the glass door open with both hands. Found her. Tay sat on the chair with a wine glass, when she turned to me her eyes were puffy and red and her cheeks were wet with tears.
My face softened and I immediately sat on the foot stool in front of her and placed my hands on her knees, "tell me what's up, you only pull out alcohol if it's something serious."
"Joey." She muttered choking out the single name before crying once again.
"Shit." I said under my breath. Her ex. The only person I can say that I truly hate. He never treated her right. It even pisses me off to hear his name. When they broke up she cried so much. And she didn't do much either. Granted they were dating for a while, four years is a long time for a teenager. We're both nineteen now, so they started dating when she was fifteen. See, a long ass time. People change though and he definitely did some changing over those years, and not for the better. He got colder, more hostile towards her. It got worse at the end of their relationship. To this day I still don't know why she put up with it for so long. It's not like her to put up with anyone's shit. I guess he was different around her, I never really hung out with them together, probably because I've always had this dislike for him, but I don't know I never got to know him on a personal level. I didn't know him at all, if we're being technical. It was strange to see her so vulnerable, during and after they split. Even though Chase and I kind of were the reasons why he broke up with her in the first place.
"What about him?" I asked taking the glass from her hand placing it on the table.
"A- at Kian's place, he messaged me on Twitter saying that his friends have seen me around with 'some tall dude that looks like a girl' and he said that he was actually considering getting back together but now-" She sighed and looked down, picking at her nails. Tears fell on her hand and she gently brushed them off.
"He's an ass Tay, you know that. We talked about this before. You said you would never talk to him again, even if he begged. Remember how mad at him you were?"
"Yeah and I also remember how sad I was too."
"And I'm guessing the tall lesbian looking guy they're talking about is Kian huh. I always kinda thought he could play a character on orange is the new black."
Taylor let out a small laugh and hit my leg, "leave him alone, he does not."
"Well I mean he does a little." She admitted and now bursted out laughing.
"See that's the Tay I know, the smiling happy one. Not this mopping around for some douche Taylor." I said. Her smiled lowered a bit and she nodded.
"You're right," she hopped out of her seat with the wine glass and chugged the rest down, "I don't need him when I have my very own lesbian."
I looked up at her and giggled, "Uhm I don't think Kian would enjoy being called a lesbian, so you probably shouldn't refer to him as one."
"Good call." She nodded and walked back in the apartment, "it'll be our new inside joke then." She popped her head back out.
I followed her back in the house and shut the balcony door behind me so flies can't get in. "So tonight I think I'm gonna attempt to make us pasta."
