Chapter 9 - The last game

It was the last day of the Grand Magic Games and the mood was tense.

Natsu and Lucy won't be participating the last game since they have to help the future Lucy. Juvia's the replacement. Together the Fairy Tail team walked into the arena. Shortly followed by Sabertooth.

"Something's off...", Zelus said. 

"Yeah, everyone is looking so down....", Zeus muttered, 

"Didn't this blond guy have an exceed aswell? Where is he?", Aether asked when he floated next to Zelus.

"Good question!", Juvia said, "And what happened to Ceres? She cut her hair... But it was so beautiful!"

"And she looks even more gloomy than normally.", Erza noted.

"Something really bad happened in their guild.", Zeus stated.

Their talk got interrupted by Chapati who announced the last game.

"We will top the Grand Magic Games off with a classic battle royale!", he shouted, "The teams set one team captain. But the enemey teams won't know. If the captain got taken down, the victor gains 5 points for their team. For every other member they get 1 point. There is a total of 45 points so everybody could win at this point."

"This should be easy. Plucking the wings from a fairy leaves a pitiful creature.", Minerva smirked optimistic.

Ceres looked through her bangs which covered her eyes and threw a death glare at Minerva.

"Don't be so sure about that... M'Lady...", she chuckled, "Maybe you'll be the pitiful one here."

After the last things were settled the guilds spread out into the streets of Crocus, which are the battlefield for the last round.

"What a stupid idea to take Crocus as a battlefield. The guilds are going to destroy the whole town.", Ceres mumbled when she strayed down the town.

"...leaving a pitiful creature!", Minerva was puffed herself up again.

"Repeating your lines? You're lame.", Ceres went the direction where the voice came from.

Eventually she stepped in the sight of Erza and Minerva. Her head hanging low, her face towards the ground she strode towards them.

"What do you think you're doing?! This is my fight. Get your own!", Minerva was outraged.

When she was in between the two women she lit a fire in her palm.

"Is this going to a 2 versus 1 now? Oh boy, Erza should be afraid.", Chapati yelled.

"Ceres! I demand you to leave now!", Minerva shouted at her mate.

Erza took a few steps back when she saw the crackling blue-ish flame.

Then suddenly Ceres lashed out. A loud scream was heard across the whole town.

Minerva was holding her shoulder and whimpered in agony.

"What?!", Erza was perplexed.

"Erza, I ask you sincerest to leave now. I'll be willing to give you the points for taking her down. Just leave.", Ceres shoved Erza a bit away.

"I won't just give up here!", Erza held her weapon tightly.

"Then you leave me no other choice.", she said as she swirled her finger around creating a huge ring of fire locking Erza out.

"You can't be serious...", Minerva and Erza said in unison.

"I am serious. Dead serious.", yet again she lit another flame throwing it in Minervas direction but she dodged it.

"What is going on down there?!", Yajima asked.

"Looks like there is a battle between guildmates now. Holy cow, this is getting intense!", Chapati shouted.

Erza turned heel and looked for another fight.

"I'm sorry Erza... But I'll be willing to give you the points...", Ceres looked at the ground again.

"Are you completely mental?!", Minerva stood up and kicked Ceres right in the stomach. And that kick had a lot force.

Ceres backed off and coughed up a bit blood since she hit her stomach with the tip of her foot.

"I won't forgive you for what you've been putting Sting through. You think you're so gracious and generous for not killing Lector. You're totally power-obsessed!", she spat.

"Oh how ironic. The little sadist girl tells me that I'm power-obsessed and merciless? Don't you know how stupid that sounds, Ceres darling?!", Minerva laughed.

"Don't call me by that name. This is the name my stepfather gave me. This name belongs to another person. I haven't been born like this!", she finally rose her head.

"Aww, miss daddy issues doesn't like her name?", she teased.

"Tch, that comes from the daddy issue girl herself.", she spat back.

"And now it'd be nice if you would call me Jaynee. The name my mother chose for me. Jaynee Skye. I don't want to be asociated with that prick of my real father so I'll take my mothers maiden name!", she rushed over to Minerva and held her up by the hair.

"You're kidding me right?!", Minerva escaped in one of her spheres and starting attacking Jaynee, just to get blocked and dodged left and right.

"No. Not now and I won't be.", Jaynee got hold of Minerva wrist while she was relentlessly assaulting her.

Minerva was frightened by that. The pressure Jaynee was putting into this grip almost broke her wrist.

"I'll snap your wrist like a straw if you don't do what I tell you.", she threatened.

"What do you want?!", Minerva almost cried.

"I won't beat you up if you leave the guild. Right here and right now.", Jaynee looked at her with infuriated eyes, "And you'll give Lector back."

"You're threatening me to leave the guild which is lead by my father?", she laughed and managed to escape Jaynee's death grip.

"You must be dumber than you sound. You will never change and make up your mistakes.", she yelled, lashing out at her.

When she put a hand at Jaynee's throat her body got ingulfed by flames.

"You're right... I won't make up my mistakes. What is done cannot be undone. But I can proceed to be a better person. That's what my mother would want from me.", she smiled lightly, "And I don't intend on letting her down!"

She burned Minerva and started her own series of blasts until she was laying on the ground whimpering for mercy.

"Now...", she squatted down, "Erase your guild mark and give me Lector back."

In pain Minerva erased the mark, "I'll give you that but your little kitty friend won't see the daylight again."

Since Jaynee set the ring of fire down she was able to throw Minerva in the nearest wall. She yanked her by the head and whispered dreadfully: "If you don't give me Lector back I'll make sure you'll get the last glimpse of the horrorfying power I got. It'll probably the last glimpse you'll ever take.", she lit a tiny flame on her index finger and held it right infront of Minerva's eyes, "You don't want that, dont'cha?".

"You haven't changed a bit. Still gruesome and miserable.", she cried.

"I did change. I'll only to terrible things to my and my friends enemies.", she stared into Minerva's eyes.

She was on the brink of passing out. Because of that she release Lector. And Millianna. For some reason. But she got taken down instantly.

"Looks like my work here is done.", she took Lector and turned heel.

"And who gets the points now?!", Chapati asked.

"Oh yeah...", Jaynee mumbled before exclaiming, "I give the 5 points for taking Minerva down to Erza! But I take this 1 point from Millianna!"

She then proceeded to look for Sting.
