The next day Bradley was disappointed to have not heard from Nikki for most of the day. At first he waited for her to contact him although Nikki still felt guilty about feeling close to Josh the night before. Suzanne had waken Nikki up early so she could get ready for work at her job as a barmaid while Nikki made her way home feeling hungover. As she walked she started thinking about the events of the previous night, things had been fine until she had seen Josh and now everything seemed confusing as she liked Bradley but a part of her was thinking about Josh and how they had both gotten along really well.
Bradley was eventually starting to feel paranoid about Nikki ignoring him. He didn't want to keep ringing her and guessed that maybe she was still asleep but he also had an unwanted feeling that she may have met another guy. He decided to wait for her to contact him first, that way he would come across as less intrusive but as the day wore on he was still feeling anxious.
Jennifer was also having similar problems with Josh as he too had ignored her most of the day as he was feeling hangover and he was still tempted to contact Nikki. Jennifer had sent Josh a couple of text messages throughout the day but each time Josh received them he ignored them. The last thing he wanted when he was hungover was to have a girl checking up on him.
Eventually Bradley decided to ring Nikki's phone although she didn't pick up, when she heard her phone ringing she was at first hoping that it might have been Josh but seeing Bradley's name on her phone screen disappointed her. How come the guy she really wanted to hear from wasn't contacting her while the guy who was contacting her she was no longer interested in? She had just admitted it to herself, she still had feelings for Josh but she knew that it wouldn't be a good idea getting back with him as he had a girlfriend after all and she was with Bradley but she felt awkward about Bradley contacting her.
Bradley had tried to ring her twice more before Nikki finally decided to pick the phone up to him.
'Hope your ok,' said Bradley calmly down the phone to Nikki feeling relived that she finally picked up to him.
'I am thanks. Sorry I haven't got back to you, I just woke up,' lied Nikki. It was so hard talking to him down the phone when she just wanted to be left alone.
'You had a good time last night then?' asked Bradley. Nikki was now feeling even more awkward as it was just typical of someone to ask questions just because she hadn't spoke to them all day.
'It was good thanks,' replied Nikki 'Didn't get in till about two in the morning I think,'
'Cool, where did you go to?' asked Bradley trying to make conversation but also feeling like he was coming across as pushy.
'Just that place called Foxe's and somewhere else I think,' replied Nikki regretting even picking up the phone to answer Bradley.
Soon after an awkward conversation, Nikki managed to make an excuse and hang up the phone on Bradley but she felt bad, Bradley was a nice guy and she was lying to him while Josh was an idiot and messed around with girls yet she was missing him as well. It wasn't that Josh had contacted her though; she assumed that he was probably with Jennifer and had forgotten about her.
However Josh had managed to continue avoiding Jennifer for most of the day but she too was worried about him so she eventually rang him but only had a similar conversation down the phone with him that Bradley had with Nikki.
After Josh managed to get off the phone with her, he started complaining. He was still at Martin's and they were watching a football match on TV.
'What's with women always checking up on me?' complained Josh.
'Because you ignored her all day perhaps?' replied Martin amused.
'More like I feel like shit and I can't be bothered to talk to her, woman just don't get that do they?' moaned Josh.
