Chapter 25: A New Life

Nana's POV

Everyone seemed so stressed and worried. I hate being the one to cause it, but I can't do anything about it.

"Um...Sasha. Is it alright if I stand up and walk around a bit. And change into dry cloths?..." I asked, holding my belly.

She finished securing her hair back. "Of course...Levi! Help her up!" She answered.

Sasha seemed to know exactly what she was doing. She did say she delivered a lot of babies. She really was sweet.

Levi helped me up and held my hand as I slowly walked around the room a bit. It felt great to stretch my legs and get the feeling back into them. Levi supported my back, although he didn't have too. It's almost funny how he is taking orders from Sasha. He must trust her...a lot.

"Feeling better?" He asked.

"Yes..." I said.

Armin was helping Sasha get organized for the delivery. She had him getting water and folding blankets. I noticed he brought a stack of books too.

"Nana, it would be a good idea for you to drink some water." She looked at me and nodded towards Levi.

He directed me from the room into the kitchen. "Here, sit for a second." He pulled out a chair for me. He filled a glass with water and handed it to me. I drank it in one gulp.

Jean walked in from outside, "How's the mother to be?"

I winced as another contraction hit, "Great!"

Levi noticed and began massaging my shoulders. It felt great too. I let my hair fall in the front. "Thank you." I said.

"Don't mention it." He said.

I began to wonder, "Where's Mikasa?" I asked.

Jean perked up, "She's helping me cut firewood, and Eren is fixing a crib he found in the attic for you."

"Can you tell him thank you for me please?" I asked.

"Sure can." He said as he walked outside.

Levi ended my shoulder massage and took me back to the bedroom. I had another contraction as I sat on the bed.

Sasha helped me change privately and then had me lay on my back with pillows propping me up. It was comfortable. I had a soft blanket over my legs and waist. I could've fallen asleep if I wasn't in pain.

I gasped. It hurt, bad. My back became sore and certain places felt uncomfortable.

"Okay Nana. We're not gonna push for awhile. But I need to see if you dilated at all yet...which I doubt." Sasha spoke.

I nodded and she rushed Armin and Levi out of the room. Armin was quick to leave but Levi argued first until I agreed with Sasha. Which I did. I bent my knees so Sasha could take a look. It Honestly didn't bother me because the pain is distracting. It only grew worse too.

"Your dilated only about 3 centimeters so far." She said.

How long does this take? I've been in labor for an hour already.

Levi's POV

I stood in the kitchen. I was pacing back and forth and just thinking. I hate seeing her in pain, but it's nature.
Eren had finished the crib and had put it in the corner. It was a bassinet. We'll have to put blankets in it for the baby.

"How long does this take?" Eren groaned.

He was being a sourpuss today. "I thought you'd be excited?" Armin chirped in, "Babies are really cute."
