________1 week later__________
Hanna and I have been living on the streets. I am slowly saving up money to get a place. But currently most of our money goes towards food.
When I go to the bakery to work, Hanna always stays out the front door and encourages civilians to come and buy bread. But, I just finished my shift. So, Hanna and Have started searching for a place to sleep tonight. Hopefully we will get lucky and find an empty bench we can share. It's much better than smelly crates.
"Mommy," Hanna has started calling me that, "When are we gonna get to sleep in a bed?"
Her question made me stop in my tracks, I almost tripped. "Hopefully soon." I said, "When I find us a place to stay, I'll also buy us a bed. I promise!"
We were walking about the streets, I had gotten used to walking barefoot. The rocks no longer bothered me. I'm glad Hanna has shoes. They seem they will last awhile too.
I don't exactly know why, but the Military Police are always out now. Are they searching for something? I'll have to ask around sometime. I never know what's happening or anything. Even Hanna knows more about the latest news than I do.
Hanna must have caught me stating at one because she said, "They are searching for the long-lost princess."
"What?" I said," I didn't know the King had a daughter."
"Yeah, he does. But she is now missing because the stupid queen had a dumb idea.," she began to mock the queen,"oh, let's just hide our daughter underground with some random low paid maid in the castle!"
I tried to hold in laughter. Hanna is so funny. Her impressions could make us rich! But, we would be jailed for mocking royalty.
"Hey! You! What did you just say?" I heard a low voice say. Did I really just jinx us?
A man in the Military Police was staring Hanna down. "She didn't mean it!" I said, jumping in front of Hanna.
"If she didn't mean it, she wouldn't have said it!" He growled.
"Hanna, run!" I yelled. I grabbed her hand and took off.
"Where are we going?" Hanna asked.
"I don't know! Just keep running!" I said.
We ran, ran, and ran some more till we couldn't breathe.
But he caught up with us. I had to pick up Hanna and burn my lungs running even more. I saw a flash of green go behind me. An it distracted so much, I tripped and Hanna flew out if my arms.
That flash of green was a person.
"Stop right there!" A different man's voice said. I turned around still on the ground.
That man, is the most attractive human being I have ever seen in my entire life. He had black hair, a perfect face, and gorgeous eyes. He was even a little sexy. My cheeks turned bright red. I felt like we were the only two people in the walls. He mouth started moving.
"Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah"
"Mommy, snap out of it!" Hanna brought me to my senses. I blinked in confusion.
"Mommy?" The man said.
"I adopted her." I quickly explained. He held out his hand, I grabbed it.
"My name is Levi, but I advise you to call me corporal." He said.
He pulled me to my feet. Wow, he was short. But I was shorter. "Your name is?" He asked.
"Oh, I'm Nana!" I quickly said, "and this is my daughter Hanna."
He shook both our hands. "I assume you have no place to stay because you aren't wearing any shoes." He said.
"Yeah, kind of." I blushed.
He looked down. Then back at me. "I know a place you can stay. There is extra dorms and a spare pair of shoes." He said.
I was thrilled, "Can we stay there?" Hanna smiled.
"Sure, I'll take you there myself." Corporal said.
"Thank you so much!" I said, "I promise we won't be a bother!"
He shoed off the Military Police and escorted us to a horse. Oh no! I was not riding that giant thing!
"Okay! Corporal lead the way! Ill follow behind!" I said. He looked confused.
"Just hop on it will be much quicker!" He said. Hanna seemed to have no problem with it. She was already lifted onto the horse and was petting its back.
I have a small fear of horses. I used to good at riding actually. But I was bucked off when I was 13, I haven't ride one since.
"Can't we walk there?" I asked a little nervously.
"No, come on. I'll help you up." Corporal said.
He held my hand and lifted up onto the horse. My legs were shaking. Corporal jumped on as well. I wrapped my arms around his waist, squishing poor little Hanna in between us.
"Make this fast!" I said. I closed my eyes and waited for the horse to move. It started to walk and eventually was galloping through the streets. The ride seemed like it lasted forever. I finally was lifted of by corporal. Then Hanna was lifted down.
We walked with him to the stables to put up his horse. "So, Nana? Why were you so afraid of the horse?" Corporal asked.
"I...um...was, yeah...I was bucked off a horse when I was 13." I said.
"I didn't know that." Hanna said.
I smiled at her, "Well, now you do."
"Anyways, what are your ages?" Corporal asked.
"I'm 9, and my mom is 15." Hanna said. She was very talkative.
"Well, now I know for sure you were adopted." He awkwardly said, "Do you girls wanna meet everybody?"
"Wait...is this the Survey Corps castle?" Hanna asked.
"Yes, it is." Corporal said.
He took us inside to a mess hall. There were soldiers eating bread and vegetables. I recognized one if them, brown hair, green eyes. He was...the one who saved me.
"Eren?" I said.
"What?" Corporal said.
"I know Eren. He saved me a week and a haft ago. I owe him my life." I said.
"Oh."
I walked off towards Eren. Leaving Hanna with Corporal. "Who is she?" A boy with blonde hair said.
"I'm Nana." I said.
Eren faced me, "Nana!"he said, "How have you been?"
I say down next to him. "Well, great for now." I said.
"For now?" He said.
"Well, I, um...have been having trouble finding a place to stay." I said, "But Corporal over there found my daughter and I and saved us from the Military Police."
Eren froze, "you...you.....have a k-kid!"
He said. I nodded, "She's adopted.""Oh..." Was all he could say.
Corporal tapped on my shoulder, "Come on, I have you and Hanna a room."
