Chapter 11

The next day, Nagisa and Karma made their way to school. Nagisa apologized sheepishly for skipping dinner and their homework time. He didn't really think Karma would be lonely, since he's only been at his house for about five days.

Once they got to their school, Nagisa waved the red head off and walked to the teachers lounge. Karma was irritated. Nagisa wasn't telling him shit and he felt useless. Was it because of that costume? Or maybe their session? He knew Nagisa was still trying to protect himself, but he could at least tell him.

You don't even tell him your past. What makes you think he'll tell what he's up to?

Karma grew surprised. Was that how Nagisa felt? Did he want to know his past? Was it fair to him? Immediately the red head hung his head in guilt and walked to his seat.

Nagisa knew he was being shady to Karma. That much was obvious. But his plans were secretive, and he couldn't tell anyone yet.

Nagisa knocked on the teachers lounge and let himself in. "Excuse me for the intrusion."

He glanced around the small, messy room. Bitch-sensei was twirling her hair, staring at her notepad in boredom. Koro-sensei was not in the room, probably in Greece or Brazil. Karasuma-sensei was typing rapidly on his computer, a permanent frown curving his lips.

The two looked up when Nagisa entered. "Nagisa-kun?" Bitch-sensei said in surprise. The blunette assumed that the two assassins didn't expect a lot of visitors.

"What's wrong, Nagisa?" Karasuma-sensei said as he glanced up to see his student.

"Um. Karasuma-sensei, could I ask a favor?" He looked up from his laptop in confusion. Nagisa grew a bit more confident with his full attention.

"Shoot."

"I'd like to find my father. Could you help me?" Karasuma froze. It wasn't like he was against the idea, he truly did want to help Nagisa. But why?

"Why me?" He voiced his thoughts. For a split second, he saw Nagisa's face form into disappointment. "Oh, I guess you don't have to."

"No! I do want to help you, but I'm just wondering why you want me to find it and not Ritsu. I'm sure this request will take me a longer time that Ritsu." Nagisa completely forgot that one of his classmates was a computer built and sent by the government. But for some reason, he didn't like asking Ritsu. It's not that he didn't trust her, but she was the government's property. So was Karasuma in a way, but Nagisa trusted him as his teacher to not tell the government or anyone.

"I feel uncomfortable telling her. I trust you more as my teacher than her since she could be monitored."

Karasuma nodded. "Alright. Don't expect very sudden results though. It will take me a while to get this information."

Nagisa nodded and smiled. "Thank you very much, Karasuma-sensei." He bowed to both teachers and left.

"His father..." Bitch-sensei murmured as she watched Karasuma type. "Didn't he go missing a while ago?"

The agent nodded. "He did. Although I don't know much about Nagisa's personal life, there must be something wrong between his mother and him if he's asking this now." Irina's eyes narrowed. "Don't you think the schools files will hold information of that?" Karasuma shook his head thoughtfully.

"I think they may hold a bit of information about the parents, but if he went missing a while ago, they probably don't hold much. It's mostly just for the student. And the principal doesn't let anyone look at them. Even I don't want to go snooping into my students lives."

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"You could stop bugging me."

Irina gave him a friendly glare. "Why are you so mean to me?"

She didn't receive an answer though. Karasuma was too sucked into his own research to listen anymore.

Nagisa was distant throughout the whole day. His thoughts consumed him every period, including lunch and PE. He didn't talk during lunch at all and during training he barely even tried.

Karasuma understood partly why Nagisa seemed occupied but didn't like how the talented assassin was just off put. Nagisa had an expressionless face and would continuously glance around. The blunette had the feeling of being watched. Was it the school board?

Even during their class, Karasuma picked up something. He noticed how Nagisa was always glancing at the bushes and trees and got the feeling of being watched. He even stopped class to walk around the area.

As the end of the day neared, so did his anxiety. What did these people want? And how was he going to get Karma off his back? He knew he wasn't in great trusting terms at the moment with his best friend. He worried what would happen if Karma followed him.

"Have a great day to the rest of you!" Koro-sensei moved to leave while his students chatted and packed up their stuff. Nagisa sat frozen in his seat, staring out the window. This is it. He would have to tell Karma at the bottom of the mountain that he would be separating from him.

Karma stared curiously at the now antsy Nagisa. Gathering his stuff and courage, he walked towards Nagisa's desk with a timid smile. "Ready to go?"

Nagisa snapped to Karma and nodded, a nervous smile trying to mask his anxiety. As the two walked out of the building and down the mountain, Nagisa couldn't keep his mind off of what was about to happen. He shouldn't be this worried, what if they just wanted to briefly discuss something with him?

He was overreacting.

Once both were down the mountain, Nagisa stared in the direction of the main school. "Nagisa?" Karma called.

"Ah, Karma. I have to go to the main school for a bit. Go home without me." Karma looked taken aback. Nagisa flinched inwardly.

"Oh." Was all that came out of the red heads mouth. "Okay."

Karma walked away without a word. He didn't really understand how to feel. Was Nagisa ditching him? Was that his plan? No, that couldn't be it. He knew Nagisa wasn't that cold. What was the worst that could happen?

Nagisa felt a sharp pain in his side. Karma looked defeated and sad, his body turning away and walking mechanically home. Nagisa had to explain everything once he got home. He owed Karma that much.

The blunette walked swiftly to the school, a big building with high technology and design. Nagisa groaned as he walked into the building, the familiar cool air putting his neck hair on end

Nagisa walked through the lightly dim halls, a frown crawling onto his face.

What does the principal want? He didn't remember doing anything wrong. Nagisa almost stopped completely and checked his phone.

Wait a minute.

The text message didn't say anything about the principal. The small boy walked into the principals office and closed the door. It was dark and shadowed. If he wasn't meeting the principal...

Then who was he meeting?

Nagisa could only think of one person, and he dreaded ever closing that door.

"Hello, Nagisa-kun."

It was Asano.
