CHAPTER 1: WELCOME HOME

JORDAN P.O.V
The taxi pulled up infront of my house. Shit, it's been like what? Two years since i have last seen my house. I smiled at the taxi driver before handing him the money to pay for the ride. I pushed open the door and got out, then walked to the trunk of the taxi and took out my suitcases before the yellow taxi cab pulled away.

I stood on the sidewalk staring at my house. It still looked at beautiful and grand as i remembered. The double story wooden house had a beautiful grand porch made entirely of mahogany wood. The tree that was dying before i had left was now huge and healthy, it's branches growing all the way over until in the neighbour's yard. I wonder how my neighbour is doing. I wonder if Brayden is okay, if she's still as good of an athlete as she was before i left.

See, Brayden was my best friend. The girl next door. She knew about the bullying and tried her best to help out but it would only backfire each time. I felt bad about leaving though and I'm sure she would be angry but I'm determined to get my best friend back. Besides, this is the new me. I won't be running away anytime soon. I came back to Chance Harbour for one reason and one reason only; to take back my town.

I looked down at my attire. I was wearing a black, sagging skinny jeans with rips and tears in it, a black jersey with Eminem's face printed on it in white and a pair of suede Caterpillars. My black hair hung down over my shoulders as i adjusted the black beanie on my head before picking up my bags as i walked up the driveway towards the front door. I pushed it open and stepped inside. The house was awfully quiet and just as i had left it.

I quietly walked upstairs to my room and put my suitcases down before turning around to head to the living room. I checked my phone. It was 15:30 on Sunday afternoon. I made my way down the stairs, not even phased by my parents absence. I mean, i haven't seen them in two years, what's another two more hours, right? Right. As i came to the last step i froze. I could hear whispering in the living room and i smiled. I better put on my best surprised face. I took the last step then rounded the corner and just as i had expected.

"SURPRISE!!!!!" Everyone yelled in unison, jumping up from behind the couches and under tables. I let out a loud bark of laughter as my little brother, Jake, attacked me. The last time i saw him, he was 8 years old. He should be about 10 years old now. My mother smiled widely as she ran over to me and wrapped her arms around me.

"Hi, honey." She whispered in my ear. I smiled.

"Hi, mom." I whispered back. She let go and i bent down to hug Jake.

"Jordan! I missed you so much!" He yelled, throwing his arms around me. I let out a light laugh as pulled me down. God, this kid is strong for a 10 year old. He pulled away and i looked at him properly.

He had lost alot of his baby teeth and now had a wide, straight smile. He had more freckles than he had when I'd left and his green eyes were lit. He had dark brown hair that hung down over his eyes, which he would swipe away every five seconds. He laughed as he turned around and ran off again. I looked around with a frown before turning to my mother.

"Hey, mom. Where's dad?" I asked, rather disappointed at the fact that he wasn't here. Before my mom could answer, i heard a voice that made me squeal with happiness.

"I'm right over here, pumpkin!" I heard my dad yell. I looked out the backdoor and saw him standing at the grill, handling the barbeque. I let out my dad and I's favourite Fetty Wap catchphrase.

"Yeaaaaah baby!" I yelled in a high pitched voice before dashing off in the direction of my father. I practically pounced on him as i ruffled his black, curly hair. He laughed as we both went tumbling to the ground. He stared up at me with his hazel brown eyes, an amused smile plastered on his face. I could see the age lines forming on his forehead and on his cheeks, but he was still pretty handsome.
