CHAPTER 14: CONNECTED

JORDAN P.O.V

I sped into another clearing where i came to a stop, stumbling. I pressed my eyes shut as tears fell from my eyes. Brayden actually hated me now. The one person I've come to know and love like a sister thought i was a monster. She thought i would actually kill her mother in cold blood.

Her mother that was like a mother to me!

"Chris.." I whispered. "I need you." I said before dropping to my knees as a sob racked my body.

I dunno why i called his name but i felt like he was the only one who could make the pain go away. I could feel the tattoo spreading as my skin felt like it was on fire under my clothes. I could feel the white sage burning the flesh of the open wound in my arm. But that pain was nothing compared to what i felt inside.

It was nothing compared to the emotional pain i was feeling. It hurt so badly that i couldn't breathe. I didn't know what i would do. I didn't know where i would go from here. In the space of one day i lost everything. I lost everything I've known my entire life. I would be alone forever.

"No, Jordan. You've got me. I'm here, babe. Don't worry." I heard Chris say. "Jordan, listen to me!" He said, his voice clearer this time.

My eyes snapped up and i didn't even realise that he had my face in his hands. He was looking directly into my eyes in concern. I was shivering, crying and i didn't know what was happening to me. I stared back at him and more tears flowed from my eyes. In the space of one day i lost everything, but found my forever.

Chris was my forever.

"I messed up, Chris. I messed up." I said, a sob racking through my body. Chris looked pained, like he didn't know what to do.

"Hey, hey, no you didn't. Let me take care of this arrow first." He said and i nodded.

I didn't even notice him move until i felt the metal being pulled out of my arm. I let out a loud scream of pain but it was over soon enough. He made it quick and anything but painless. And then he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his chest.

"Hey, it wasn't your fault, Jordan." He whispered. "You tried to save her mom." He said softly but i shook my head.

"Cora was too fast for me, even with this stupid new abilities i couldn't save her!" I snapped,my tears still flowing. Chris raised a brow, his eyes darkening.

"Cora? Cora did this?" He ground out and i nodded.

"She was trying to get back at me. She attacked me in the woods after you left." I said and the veins under his eyes became visible, turning to a dark black colour.

"I'll kill her!" He roared.

No shit, he actually fucking roared.

My eyes widened as i stared at him and i immediately knew why the others were afraid of him. He was stronger and faster and an animal. He wasn't your average vampire at all. This was why he was their leader.

"This wasn't your fault." He said, his eyes falling on me as his face returned back to normal. "This is Cora's fault. She deserves to die." He snapped and i shook my head.

"Please, Chris. Just take me home. Please i just wana take a shower and go to sleep." I pleaded him. He stared at me for the longest period of time, his eyes softening.

"Okay, come on." He whispered, standing up.

In no time we were in front of my bike. He set me down and got on before giving me my helmet. I took it from him and slipped it on before climbing on behind him and wrapping my arms around his waist. He started the bike and the purrrr of the engine just made me feel better. We were on the road soon enough, speeding through the empty streets.
