I was suffocating, the liquid that was filling my mouth made my lungs feel sticky and as if the air was not reaching them. I could not see and the pain spreading from my neck and ribs was becoming unbearable. I tried to cough, but the sound was closer to wheezing than coughing. I tried to move my hands to my throat, to smother the pain, but they would not move, I was frozen and I was burning. The only way I could breathe was through my nose, but even that was not enough. I was not sure how long I had been in pain before I felt something cover my nose, stopping me from breathing, and that is when my body came alive. I started thrashing and clawing at the object obstructing my breathing; it had a fleshy feel to it. My vision blurred in for a moment, and I saw those icy eyes and then everything was taken from me, and my breathing stopped.
I shot up, my eyes crazed and my breathing ragged. I thought the common believe was if you died in your dream, you died in real life. I looked around the room, in a state of confusion for a moment and the state only got worse when I looked next to me and saw a shirtless Gabriel, sleeping soundly, and our legs intertwined. The visions of the time before sleep slowly came back to me, making me realize that we had both fallen asleep because we were full. But when had Gabriel removed his shirt? I looked down to realize that my dress was also missing, discarded on the floor next to his shirt.
I took this moment to admire Gabriel, and his very muscular body. He looked peaceful in his rest, he almost looked human. But the moment the idea crossed my mind, his eyes shot open and the icy blue locked on mine, reminding me he was far from human. He looked me over before his eyes rested back on mine. He said up and ran his fingers through his hair, and he seemed as if his mind were elsewhere.
“Did you enjoy your dream?” He asked his voice sounding a bit bitter. How had he known about my dream? “Because, I had the same dream.” He asked, sitting up and grabbing his shirt from the floor. He slowly buttoned it up, and then tossed me my dress, which I just slid over my head. Gabriel got out of bed, and started to leave the room; he looked back and nodded his head to the door, telling me to follow. I slipped out of bed, my feet touching the cold floor and I followed Gabriel out the door. He led me to one of the doors that was always locked, and I was never able to get into. He unlocked it, and pushed the door open, revealing a room that was completely empty. The floor was made from a soft fabric, and was pure white, as were the walls, which reminded me of my mind, when I had talked to Joshua.
Gabriel grabbed hold of my hand, and I looked at him in shock. He has not looking at me, but rather at the white walls. He shut the door behind us, and pulled me to the center of the room. I could feel a ring around Gabriel’s ring finger, and when I pulled it up so I could look at it, I saw it had the same symbols written on it. Gabriel turned back sharply and met eyes with me, and his eyes were swirling with emotion, emotion that I had never seen, emotions that Gabriel had never allowed to be shown, why was now so different?
Gabriel grabbed my face, and pulled my lips to his. The kiss was so full of passion, so full of hunger that I could not resist losing myself in it. Gabriel wrapped his arms around me, and pulled me close. At first, I thought surprisingly it had been a show of affection, but I realized too late that Gabriel had different intentions. The first pop hit my ears, before the pain hit and a few more followed. I screamed out, the pain of my ribs breaking too much. I could feel the blood pooling into my lungs, and I coughed, coughing up blood.
“I am sorry.” He said, right before his fangs pierced my neck, but it was nothing like before, this time is was as if a shark had taken hold of my neck. But this was what I wanted. He lowered me to the ground as he drank, and he cradled me in his laps, jabbing my ribs, and causing the pain to increase. I could feel my life being drained out of me, slowly.
Death. I could feel it creeping towards me as if I were some delectable meal and it was a starving man. My fingers and toes were already numb and my tongue could taste the blood pooling inside of my mouth. I was dying slowly and there was nothing I could do about it, especially when I was not in control. My body was limp in his arms and I could tell that this was the way that he preferred his prey, he wanted them to know that he was in control and there was no hope, no point in struggling,
I wanted to die anyways, right? What point was there to living? I would simply be an empty shell, a worthless mass that would just drone on in life, doing nothing of significance.
Then, what was the point of dying? I would have no existence; I would be more of nothing than before. No, I was not ready to die.
I flung my arm up to hit him in the face and he growled out a menacing sound when my nails connected with his cheek. Maybe he was angry because I had interrupted his feeding, or maybe that I was rebelling and going against our unspoken rule. But the sound of growl brought me back to reality, I wanted this, I wanted death. I allowed him to continue, I allowed him to keep going an I did nothing more to stop him. Soon, my blood was almost gone.
I was suffocating, the liquid that was filling my mouth made my lungs feel sticky and as if the air was not reaching them. I could not see and the pain spreading from my neck and ribs was becoming unbearable. I tried to cough, but the sound was closer to wheezing than coughing. My vision blurred in for a moment, and I saw those icy eyes and then everything was taken from me, and my breathing stopped.
My wish was finally granted and death embraced me like a lost child, holding tightly and never letting go. For once in my life, I achieved perfect peace and rest, and although I had given up my life to achieve my goal, but Gabriel had also given up his other half for his goal. We both sacrificed what we needed to get what we wanted. We were both the most selfish creatures on this earth, and we were both dead, in our own ways of course.
Death finally took me over, and I was finally free.
Don’t throw anything at me! I’m actually proud of myself, I kept to my original plan, and I think it ended nicely! I know it’s short, but I never planned for it to be long, and it was only three days that he had her, so it couldn’t be that long! If you liked it, please vote/comment! I would really like to know what you thought! I will be posting the epilogue in a minute or two, since it is already done!
