Chapter 10

Tonks

The next morning I arrive at Grimmauld Place bright an early. The entire house is in shambles and I hear Molly shrieking in the kitchen. Judging by the pop I heard preceding it, I'm betting it was the twins.

"QUIT IT! GOOD GREIF! I HAVENT RAISED YOU TO CAUSE HAVOC EVERY THIRTY SECONDS! GOODNESS KNOWS WHERE YOUR MISCHIEF CAME FROM BUT FOR THE SAKE OF ALL OUR SANITY STOP USING MAGIC FOR EVERY LITTLE THING!"

Yep, that's the twins. "Morning everyone!" I say as I walk through the door. Fred and George wink at me as they disapperate. "Those boys I swear..." Molly says, an angry blush receding from her face.

"Alright, well who needs help with what?" I ask.m"Don't worry about the kids for now Nym-" I raise my eyebrow at Molly before she can continue. "-Tonks." She finishes with a sigh. "You get some food first." She says. I sit down and pour a cup of tea.

After eating a bit I hear a new set of feet coming down the hall. "Good morning." Remus says when he enters the room. He walks in right as I'm draining the last bit of marmalade from my glass. "Morning." I try and say, my glass obscuring my greeting. "Sorry... What was that?" Remus asks playfully. "Morning." I say again wiping my mouth with my sleeve. He chuckles and pulls up a chair next to me. "So Molly, what can I do besides eat?"

"Well, now that everyone's done eating, we'd better start gathering everything in the hall by the door. The train leaves in two hours so I'd like to have all the luggage ready to go for Alastor."

"Tonks, You and I are going to walk with Harry to the station. I want you disguised. But believably disguised. No bright pink hair. Do you understand?" Molly looks at me like she doesn't believe I can pull off something subtle. "Gotcha Molly. No pink hair. Something neutral. Alright, I've got something in mind." I grin at her.

"Remus, you should go with the twins and Ginny."  "All right." Remus says. "I'll go wake the kids." Molly's says as she starts towards the stairs.

Mad-Eye gets here shortly after the kids are up and he sorts out all of the plans for who's taking who to the station using which route (a different one for each guard), when to leave the house, all of that fun stuff.

The next hour is full of shouting, mostly from Molly and Mrs. Blacks portrait. And soon I decide I'd best get out of here if I'm to meet Molly and Harry down the street a bit without looking suspicious.

"Alright, I'm headed out." I say to whoever could hear me. I walk out the door and down the street. I'm going to need so different clothes if I'm going to pull off my disguise, so I apperate back to my house.

In my bedroom I have a large trunk full of all sorts of clothes. I pull out a beige blouse, a shawl, and a purple hat. I hope Molly doesn't mind.  "These ought to work." I say holding them up in front of the mirror.

I change into the new clothes and look back in the mirror. "One old lady, coming right up." I say.

With great concentration I manage to make myself into an old lady. My hair is now grey and curled tightly just as my grandmother used to do hers, I've got plenty of wrinkles to make my disguise look genuine. The clothes work nicely. All I need now is to try and master walking like an old woman, but that'll have to wait. I need to get back so I can meet up with Molly and Harry.

I don't have long to wait before I see Molly towing Harry along at a rather quick pace, and Sirius has managed to come along as well I see. I'm glad about that. He never gets to do anything fun, let alone come outside. And here I've been complaining about not having a bit if excitement in my life.

"Wotcher, Harry," I wink at him.

"Better hurry up, hadn't we, Molly?" I say as I check my watch. Only half an hour until the train leaves. "I know, I know..." Molly says out of breath.

In twenty minutes we arrive at the station. We wait by the barrier for the coast to clear, and soon we're on the platform. We're joined by the others in the next couple of minutes. When Mad-Eye has the luggage unloaded we start with the goodbyes. It's been loads of fun having all the kids around lately. I'm going to miss the excitement.

"Well, look after yourselves," Remus says. "You too Harry. Be careful. "Keep your head down and your eyes peeled," says Mad-Eye. There he goes again... Always cautioning everyone.

"It's been great meeting all of you," I say hugging the girls. "We'll see you soon, I expect." Molly says a quick goodbye and hurries them all onto the train.

A single tear rolls down my face as the train leaves the station. I wipe it away quickly, hopefully before anyone sees it.
