Chapter 3 Tonks

What was that? He'd only glanced at me. There was something in his eyes though, it looked like a miniature display of Zonkos fireworks, and trust me I've set of plenty of those to know what they look like. I look back at Remus but he's already chatting away with Sirius.

I offer to help Molly with dinner but she declines probably thinking i'll break something. Why do I have to be so clumsy? While dinner is cooking I decide to talk to Arthur. I always love talking to him. He reminds me of my dad, a lot.

During dinner I keep my mind off of what happened by entertaining the girls with my nose. The rest of the meal, and the conversation afterward were pretty uneventful.

When I get back home I say good night to my parents and go upstairs to my bedroom. My quidditch night clothes are in a ball on the floor next to my unmade bed.

As soon as I change, I hop in bed and my thoughts overtake me. Questions, theorys, and even silly ideas come into my mind. I resolve to ask mum about it in the morning and fall asleep. ***********

A few weeks later, I wake flustered by a dream. I try and remember it, but its always been hard for me to remember my dreams.

The only one I can remember clearly is one I had about two years ago. I had been climbing a tree and I was pretty much at the very top. I saw a man walking all by himself in woods below me. He wore a long coat, and red converse. I think he was a wizard because I saw a short wand in his hand. Almost too short. He was a tall man, and short wands usually choose shorter people. He walked and walked, I just sat there in the tree and watched him.

Then I woke up. I shake myself from recalling the dream and go downstairs. I find Mum bent over the stove and by the smell of it, she's making something really good.

"Need any help?" I ask her. "No Dora, you go and take a walk. Breakfast'l be done in a few minutes." I step out the back door and walk to the pond.

The same questions That have been running through my head, ever since the last meeting, resurface in my mind. What happened? Why? Did he feel anything? No. No way. I can't be in love with him... I can't.

My shout startles a bird. Shaken, I wade into the pond letting the cool water calm me down. I should ask Mum how she fell in love. Just to make sure. In the distance I hear something break. Then a loud scream. It's coming from my house.

"MUM!" I cry as I bolt back to the house.
