Black and White Society

She was so pure, like a crown of gold,
Submerged into the black and white society
That we have grown custom to live in.
The wrinkles above her eyes revealed her sadness,
Sadness for the way that us humans have adapted to survive.
She wasn't used to all of the things that we have developed over time;
The greed, the selfishness, the jealousy, the ignorance to the unfortunate-
She was an otherworldly creature, a being that would never be capable to treat another being with such cruelty-
And witnessing this,
I have just realized how
Broken our world as become,
And the only fault we can blame it all on
Is ourselves.
