I watch with wonder
As a hummingbird
Sucks nectar
Out of our feeder,
It's little wings thumping against
It's tiny chest
With such strength,
That my curious thoughts
Seem to cloud
My mind.
And just like that,
The hummingbird took one more sip
Of the sweet liquid
And left.
Could I, too,
Possess such strength?
Could this body of mine
Pound it's wings
Against its colorful chest,
And fly away
Into the unknown?
