The group reached the airport tense and fidgety. No one felt ready to do anything big. But they all felt as if no matter how hard they hoped and prayed, they would still need to do something none of them wanted to do.
"Dammit." Steve mumbles to himself. Everyone looks at him for an explanation for his sudden cuss. No one called him out on it this time. "Tony's here." Steve gives his team an answer. Tove sighs and starts looking around again, she notices that the airport was almost evacuated. Great.
Everyone begins shuffling and clearing their throats awkwardly. They all knew instantly that if Tony was here, he was not alone.
"Maybe he is leaving the country?" Tove suggests to the first avenger. She receives a weak smile from the captain.
"I wish." Steve answers her. Tove shudders at the thought of possibly fighting the people she was technically working for. Will they ever be able to trust me? Tove thinks to herself while chewing on her bottom lip. With the small bump of skin between her teeth, Tove begins to match her anxiety with the amount of trouble she was wading into.
The idea of fighting Natasha made her sick. Not because she was a well trained assassin from Russia, but due to the fact that Natasha was the one who gave Tove this opportunity. She was the one who dove headfirst into strange waters while slowly warming up the water for Tove to join her. Tove wouldn't consider them being friends, but they did share something big between the two of them.
"You all right there monkey?" Sam asks the brunette from across the misshapen circle their group had made. Tove looks up from her hands too see everyone's eyes on her, except for Steve and Scotts..
"Where did our leader go?" Tove asks, ignoring Sam's question.
The group continued to look at Tove with unmoving eyes. She felt like she had done something to scare them, but she couldn't have.
"Hey, come with me." Bucky grabs Tove's elbow and pulls her a good ten feet away from the group.
"I must have been spacing when Steve gave orders. I'm sor-"
"Don't. You haven't done any fighting like this for a while. No one can blame you for being nervous. Hell, if you weren't nervous Tove, I don't think you would be human." Bucky's bright blue eyes were trained on Tove's face. "The best thing you can do right now is fake it till you make it. You just need to look tough and eventually... you'll won't be pretending anymore." He smiles down at the girl reassuringly.
Tove finally meets his eyes and tries not to let out a sigh of relief. His eyes alone made her feel safe. She felt like a teenager once again when her heart fluttered irregularly in her chest and as a pink tint began to flower on her cheeks. Bucky wasn't flirting with her, but he was being kind to Tove, and with the fragile state Tove was in, she could swoon in approval.
"Alright," Tove channels her sudden admiration for Bucky into humor, which is the only way she could make a situation better other than worse. "I trust that you know what you're saying to me. Because, if I pretend that I have the guts to take down Natasha Romanoff without my ass being handed to me, but my ass is served on a silver platter, I'll take you down with my bare feet." Tove threatens the raven haired man who watched her smile as if it was something enchanting.
"Deal." Bucky smiles and lifts his metal arm to shake with Toves small hand. They shake on it and then Bucky goes into detail explaining the plan.
Steve and Scott left to draw out Tony and who ever was with him into the open. Then once he was caught, he would stall until his team could find the Quinjet. Once notified, they would both bolt for the jet, and others who could would help fight off Tony and the others until it was safe to get out of there.
