Tove woke up to Steve being thrown right above her. She quickly sat up and got dizzy by the sudden motion. She lifted her hands and let her fingers gingerly dab the source of pain on her forehead. She could feel a decently sized gash with blood dripping down the side of her face. Panic hit Tove the moment she felt the blood.
The last thing she remembered was Tony's fist meeting her head before blacking out. She didn't know how much time had gone by, but it couldn't have been more than a minute since Tony and Bucky were still fighting across the room they were in.
Tove knew she had to sit up in order to get out of the way, but her head hurt worse than she thought it could. The thought of Tony hitting her so hard that she actually got knocked out scares her. That's pretty damn close to actually killing a normal human being.
Eventually Tove found the drive to pull herself up and stand. She leaned up against the screen where she had recently watched Tony's parents die at the hands of Bucky back in the winter of 1991. A wave of guilt and sadness overcomes Tove and she nearly slumps back to the ground. But Steve catches her just in time.
Steve pulls Tove's head into his hands and studies her face to find the cut that spewed so much blood along the side of Tove's face. His eyes fall on the gash on her head and his stomach drops. "Tove..." He stops and studies her gash again. "I can see you skull." He says with a concerned look on his face.
Tove felt like throwing-up at the thought of her skull peeking through her skin, but she wasn't in the mood to look or feel weak. She was fighting the urge to pass out again and she was starting to get frustrated with herself. "I'm fine."
"You are so not fine, Tove." Steve says while gingerly tapping her gash. "You need to get out of here." Steve says in a rush.
"I'm fine, let me heal and then I'll be able to fight." Tove tries to push away from Steve but she loses her footing and starts to fall again.
"Like I said, you are not fine." Steve scolds Tove while wrapping one of his arms under her neck and the other under her knees, carrying her bridal style.
"I feel like a baby. Put me down." Tove whines at the super soldier but doesn't push away from him.
Steve carries her back out of the room and sets her down on the floor and leans her back against the wall. "Stay here, I'll come back for you." Steve says before disappearing back into the room.
"Aye-aye, Captain." Tove salutes the now gone super soldier.
Tove remains where Steve had put her, but she begged herself to heal faster so she could go out and help the other two. Tony was a major ball of rage and nothing could stop him from killing Bucky without a second glance.
Tove brings her hands up to her gash and digs a finger into the bloody mess, trying to find her skull. Pain seared through Tove's body while she dug around to find what she needed to find. Once she found her skull, she counted to three and then pushed the fractured piece of skull back into place.
The girl screamed out of pain while she felt the bone scrape more bone and skin. She could feel her nerves firing in all directions while she brought her fingers out of her wound. She then grabs the bloody skin that was torn from the punch of Tony's armour and closes it with her fingers.
Another set of agonized screams ripples throughout her body while she pinches the skin closed on her forehead. She kicked her legs viciously into the ground while she felt the flaps of skin close back together on her forehead.
Once the skin healed, Tove rested her head against the wall and breathed heavily. Sweat dripped down her neck while she swallowed and prayed for water to fall from the sky. I'm inside a building, dumbass. Tove scolds herself.
