"Mom, I'm going out", I yelled as I walked out of the door. It's a good day to go to the beach. The weather is just nice. I drove the car to my destination. Took me fifteen minutes, thankfully the parking lot are not fully occupied. I got out of the car and took deep breath. The smell of the beach.
I saw a empty bench and decided to sit there while listen to the waves. Beach definitely my place to release stresses. I took the opportunity to look around. Just some teenagers having group selfies, a family play in the water.
The wind blows through my let down hair, making it looks like I'm having concert.
"You look beautiful", he said while he tucked my hair behind my ear. I snorted at his compliment. "No, I'm not", I denied.
I smiled at the flashback. That was the first time someone called me beautiful. I never felt like I am, though. I watched the waves, slowly bring the sand back to the ocean.
"It's peaceful, isn't it?". I turned my head to look Finn standing near the bench. I'm not surprise to see him here. This beach has a lot of memories we had together. The first time we dated at the beach. I looked back at the waves.
"Yeah, it is". Finn moved to sat next to me. I scooted away a bit from him, at least two feet. We both then stay silent watching the waves. It's not awkward silence, it's comfortable. Both of us lost in our own world.
"Hey, you wanna get some icecream?", he suddenly asked. Icecream won't hurt, right?
"Sure". He stood up and I followed. We walked side by side to the ice cream parlor. On the half way, suddenly a hand held my hand. I jumped and flinched but the hand won't let go. Turned out to be Finn's hand held mine.
I tried to pulled my hand away from his but his grip is too strong. I glared at him.
"Sorry, I'm not used to walk next to you without hold your hand. Just bare with me this time", he smiled sadly. I sighed. I really don't want to touch him. It still gives me tingles over my body. God, why my body still act like this?
Finally, we reached the shop. And no, he still won't let my hand go. When we get to the counter, we ordered our own choice of icecream. Correct that, I ordered my icecream after debated with him which flavour is nicer. In the end, I chose typical vanilla. Him? He can't eat diary products a lot so he doesn't order any.
When we sat at a table, he still held my hand. Irritately, I pull my left hand up which he held in the air.
"How am I gonna eat if you still hold this?", I asked. I should have order cone instead of cup of icecream. Shrugged, he took the small spoon and scooped icecream before feed me. I raised my eyebrow, yet I still ate the icecream that he fed.
After he fed me, he scooped some for him. Scoffed to myself, I looked around the shop.
Better to look around than look at him.
