I reached out for Alyssa's hand but, came nowhere close to it. I felt around in the black hole desperate to bring her back. I shouted down nonsense words to see if she could hear me, but no response was heard. I leaned back and stared blankly at the hole that took her from me.
"Ryan, it'll be okay. We'll call the fire department or something," Bella tried to ease my worries and it wasn't working. I needed her back now. The only reason she was down there was because I got too personal with the locket. I stood up and walked away from the hole in an attempt to calm myself down.
"Ryan, don't worry. She's fine we'll, uh, we'll" Cindy tried to form a plan from the nothingness of our situation. I wasn't going to deal with the guilt. I turned around and walked back up to the abyss waiting for me. With a quick jump I fell down into my fate. Shrieks from the girls above followed but were soon deafened by the distance between us. I found it odd that on the way down it brightened up and revealed furniture all around. Great. I was getting squashed and maimed by furniture. I looked around for some sort of parachute but the only thing that would contain clothes was empty. I sighed and looked for a pillow to comfort my fall. Instead, I was showed a bed.
I climbed onto the bed and closed my eyes, waiting for the bottom of the hole. When I opened them I found myself on the floor of a preppy room. There was no furniture to see except for an umbrella in the corner. That could've been useful earlier. I walked forward through the hall. It was very colorful and abstract for a hall.
At the end there was a small door. I opened it and squeezed through, being welcomed into a new room. It was empty besides a table in the center. As I walked up I noticed a little box on it, along with a key. I stepped forward to examine them but heard a crack. Broken glass was on the floor along with a tag that said 'drink me'.
"Blame the last little girl who was here for that," a voice echoed through the room. I slowly stood up and looked around for anyone else. I walked around the table and saw a door with a very prominent nose. I tried to turn it but all he did was scream. I fell back in astonishment.
"I'm locked. Just so you know," he smartly said.
"Is that the key up there?" I asked.
"Yes, but, thanks to that girl, you won't be small enough to fit," he informed me.
"The last girl? What did she look like?" I asked in hopes of a way to find Alyssa. He just stuck his nose high though.
"I chose to block her from my memory for she was very rude," he scoffed. I rolled my eyes at how annoying his attitude was.
"Well, can you at least help me out of here?" I sighed. My head pounded because I didn't know what to do. I didn't even know how we were getting out of here. I was hoping this was all a crazy dream and I was going to wake up next to Alyssa.
"Did you try the bottle?" he looked towards the table and, as if it was magic, the shattered bottle assembled and sat on the crystal table. I got up and walked towards it. It was full of a liquid somehow. I read the tag once more and followed the directions. As soon as the drink hit my tongue I was shrunk several sizes until I was as big as the keyhole. The bottle dropped and landed next to me with a clink.
"Now you're just the right size!" The doorknob exclaimed. I ran up and waited for him to open but, he just stared at me. "Oh my. Don't tell me you forgot the key too," he said after a moment of silence. I smacked my forehead.
"Can I just squeeze through the keyhole?" I asked. The doorknob burst out laughing at that thought and didn't seem to stop. I then started back and got a running start before leaping through his obnoxious mouth.
