Through the door a peaceful forest awaited. It looked as if it came out of a fairytale. The grass was a soft green and the trees reached up to the sky. flowers and various animals were scattered about. I followed the path that was laid out for me. It curved around trees and down hills in various directions.

I thought about the doorknob's cryptic message. I first had to find a fire. That didn't make sense, though. What would I do once I found the fire? Did I have to stop it? Go through it? I sighed and continued walking in an attempt to have the answer reveal itself.

At one point the hills stopped and the road straightened to line up with a nice cottage. The outside was pink and white with a hay roof. It was cute. I opened the gate that led up to the house. I was about to knock on the door when it burst open and the rabbit revealed himself. Hope filled my heart and I was going to ask him more questions when he started shouting.

"Mary-Anne! I need my gloves! Go get my gloves before I'm late!" he shoved me into the cottage and continued his orders. I didn't get to say a word before I was already at the top of the stairs and in his room. What was I supposed to do up here? Oh, that's right, look for his gloves. It's not like I was his maid or anything. I opened drawers and mumbled to myself rude comments about his behavior. I stood up and started for the dresser across the room when I fell backwards and knocked stuff off a table.

I heard a clank and saw a metal bowl was spilled with cookies around it. The sight of the cookies reminded me how hungry I was. I didn't get a chance to eat at the picnic, as my mom was taking a painstakingly long time to prepare it. Without thinking I picked one up and shoved the entire thing in my mouth.

I continued to clean up and search for the gloves when I saw the furniture getting smaller. Or was I getting bigger? I was definitely getting bigger because soon my entire body was filling up the house. It was very uncomfortable to be in this position. I heard the rabbit screaming outside about a monster and didn't have to guess who he was talking about. I wiggled and pulled at the outside of the house in an attempt to break myself out. When that didn't work I struggled to find something in the room to help.

"There's a monster I say Mr. Dodo!" I heard the rabbit scream. I pulled the windows open to see what was happening outside. With one look at me the dodo bird was appalled. He laughed to himself and then came up to assess the situation. His cane tapped against my shoe as he explained his plan. I tuned him out though because I was uninterested in his upside down logic. I overheard him saying that they should try and pull me out. I laughed at the dumb thought.

I continued to look around the room for nothing in particular while the dodo bird pulled a lizard holding a ladder off to the side. Within minutes, the lizard was convinced to climb up and pull me through the chimney. I waited until his green face poked through and looked me in the eye. Too bad that a bunch black dust filled the room, or else he would've stuck it out. I sneezed and sent him flying back out the chimney. The dodo bird took a few minutes to come to terms with what just happened and then proposed his next plan.

"Let's smoke the monster out!" he yelled which elicited fear from both the rabbit and me. Without a second thought the bird got to work with piling the rabbit's furniture up by the house and getting the owner of it to join in. I panicked and started to take things a little more seriously. Maybe if I ate something else I could grow smaller, or even bigger to break out of the house. I noticed out of the corner of my eye a garden. It didn't have anything else but carrots. Typical. I reached over to the rabbit's garden and pulled a carrot out.

"Hey! That's mine!" the little fluffball cried out. He jumped up and gripped onto my arm, desperate to get his carrot back. I just shook him off and threw him to the ground where he continued to scream. I bit into the carrot and watched as my size went down. Filled with relief I got up and scurried down the stairs, out of the house. The rabbit looked at his watch, as if out of habit, and grew upset. He panicked as he cried out about the time and how late he was. I called after him to wait up but, before my voice could be heard, he was down the path. I sighed and walked up to where the gate was, looking down at the dark forest that awaited. My thoughts were interrupted by the insane dodo bird.

"Do you have a match?" he asked, to which I just rolled my eyes.
