The human brain cannot create faces. Therefore when you dream, if you see a face you do not know, you have seen them before in real life, even if you can't remember them.

I haven't updated this for months, so I decided to add this little chapter to lessen the guilt of abandoning this book so easily.

I'm sorry if this story makes no sense, but I literally just made it up in two minutes. So if it is rushed or confusing, then it may be because I was determined to publish a chapter as soon as possible.

She couldn't move as she stared into the black pits of his eyes, breathing heavily in terror. He grinned at her, his thick pale lips curled in amusement.

She had never seen him before. Yet he behaved as if they were very close friends.

He pressed his cold hand against her cheek firmly, leaning in to whisper into her ear. His hot breath tickled the inside of her ear as he purred, "Let's play a game." He took her hand in his own, twirling her around as he hummed a tune aloud.

Despite all of this, she was still frozen stiff from fear. All of her movements were caused only by the man.

He pulled her in close, stepping in rhythm to the song he hummed. He smiled, kissing her on the cheek. Her entire face instantly grew cold. Almost like it had been a corpse pressing its dead, pale lips against her cheek. He stopped to laugh sharply at her, his eyes widening as tears sprang from them. He giggled quickly, drifting into a coughing fit.

"Ohoho, what else can we play?" he sneered, smirking. "Aha, I can sing you a song, if you'd like, my beloved." He waited for her to protest, but she couldn't find her voice. She was unable to speak. He smiled happily in satisfaction. "Good, good. You love my voice, of course. I knew that." He spoke confidently, without any doubt lingering in his head. He stated everything as if it could not be anything but a fact.

He held her chin, forcing her to stare into his eyes. "I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'd never let you go," he murmured softly. "When all those shadows almost killed your light."

Tears began to stream down her face uncontrollably as his grip hardened, slowly crushing her. He was smiling sadly, his eyes sparkling in curiosity. His hands suddenly moved towards her throat, squeezing and shaking her harshly as he began to strangle her. He laughed sweetly. "Until Death tears us apart," he exclaimed. "Let Death take you away from me, so that I may follow you into darkness. Let God grant me my wish. Let God allow me to bring you towards Death so that we may both burn together in Hell." He laughed harshly, squeezing harder and harder.

Until her vision went dark.

Her eyes flickered open hesitantly as she woke up in a dark room. She was laying down in a bed, her arms and legs chained down, while her waist was held down by a thick rope.

She opened her lips slowly, gasping slightly.

A young man hovered over her, smiling. "Ahaha, so you have awaken." He brushed his fingers against her arm. "Good, so I didn't kill you yet. That would've been too soon, yes?" He turned away from the bed, moving towards a cabinet.

She struggled to speak, attempting to scream, only to gurgle loudly. Her throat burned from the effort. She began to sob in agony. It was no surprise that she was unable to speak or plead for her life. The night before, her tounge had been torn from her mouth with a pair of scissors.

The man returned to her side, beaming. He was holding several needles in his hand. "Shh," he insisted, wiping away her tears. "Save your crying for later. I want you to have just enough tears saved for when I begin. Today we're playing Doctor again. You're the patient. It's my responsibility to finish the surgery, okay? There's a high probability of death, but trust me. There's absolutely nothing to be concerned about. Afterall, I'm a professional. I have plenty of experience. You're my sixth patient. Nobody has complained to me about the results of the surgery just yet. You'll definitely be satisfied in the end."

He kissed her temple lightly as he forced the first needle into her wrist.

Yay I finally updated after a billion years. Oh well. Nobody has complained to me yet about it! Looks like I'm safe 😂

Anyway, maybe it's just me, but doesn't this story have a completely different feel than the past chapters? If anybody else notices it, this is because the first chapter was published about two years ago. Man... I'm old now. 😝
