Chapter Ten

When I woke in the morning, Sollux was sitting at our dining room table, typing away at his Husktop.

"Why are here Sollux?" I asked.

"Yeah, about that. The whole God Tiier thiing i2n't working." I got kinda sad. That's also when I got an idea. A "stupid and fun at the same time" idea.

"DAVE!" I yelled. He came running out of his room, in pajamas covered in little apples.

"WHERES THE FIRE!" He yelled.

"No where. I need to talk to you after a certain mustard blooded troll leaves." I heard Sollux sigh, then stand up and leave, shutting the door behind him.

"Ok. What was it?" Dave asked, sitting down at the table.

"Ok, Dave. I, um, I think I want to play Sburb." I said. That was clearly not what he was expecting.

"WHAT?" He nearly yelled. I nodded. "Dee, you can't do that!"

"Why not! It could be fun!" I said.

"Um, it's really not." I heard Dirk say behind me. "Not when you lose your head. Many times."

"Yeah. Dee, you don't want to play Sburb." Dave said.

"Yes I do! Why can't you understand that!" I yelled. I ran to my room. I knew I was kinda over reacting, but it wasn't fair. For once in my life I wanted to do something somewhat important. I opened to window and climbed out onto the fire escape.

I climbed up a floor and entered the home of the English-Egberts. Jackie's room to be exact.

She wasn't in her room, so I walked into the living room. She was on the couch watching Merlin.

"Hey," I said, half heartedly. She jumped off the couch in surprise.

"How did you get in here?" She yelled, looking at the door, which was next to the TV.

"Fire Escape." I replied. I jumped over the back of the couch and sat down. Jackie paused Merlin.

"What's Up? You look kinda down." Jackie said.

"Brothers." I said.

"What did they do?" Jackie questioned.

"They won't let me play Sburb. I really want too! I mean, sure, I could die, but that's the fun of it! I mean, Dirk died at least 3 times and he's fine!" I began to rant.

"Shoosh. Shoosh. Shoosh." Jackie said, and papped me. I swatted her hand away.

"Stop!" I said.

Jackie stopped and looked at me. "Ya wanna tall about it?" I shook my head and leaned on her shoulder.

"I'm good." I said. I picked up the remote and played Merlin.

Half an hour later, we had finished an episode and decided to go into Jackie's room to chill.

When we walked in I saw Jackie's phone practicly exploding with messages.

We can't find Dee!

Have you seen Dee?

Dee disappeared! Have you seen her?

Oh shit. When Jackie unlocked her phone, it died. Oh the irony.

There was a loud, panicked knock at the door. Jackie and I ran over, and opened it, to see Dirk standing there, no shades, and hair a bit messy. His eyes widened in surprise when he saw me. He hugged me tightly.

"Oh my god! Dee we have been looking for you for what feels like forever! Dave is freaking out and James has been texting everyone! An-and once all the trolls found out they were freaking out too, and Katane, Natiln, and Cifion even went out too look for you!" Dirk said in a panicked rush.

"Dirk! Oh, god I'm sorry. I left my phone at home and that was really irrespons-" I started but dirk cut me off.

"No no no, its fine. I'm lust glad you're okay." Dirk said, hugging me again. I hugged back. Dirk pulled out his phone and called dave and told him what happened. O heard a bit off yelling and figured Karkat was with him.

I turned to see Jackie on her phone. It looked like she was pulling up Skype or something. She hit a group chat that was already going and heard panicked yelling from everyone.

"GUYS!" She yelled. Everyone stopped. "She's right here!" The yelled continued as she turned her phone toward me. I grabbed her phone and held it.

"Oh thank gog rawr okay!" I heard Perdan say.

"Yeah! Good thing because you ARE my partner for that upcoming science project..." Natiln said. Classic Natiln, but deep down I know she cares.

"0h! Is that Dee?" I heard Cifion. He popped up next to Leicet's face, who was clearly just watching.

There was a lot of talking, and some sign language explanations for a few minutes, until everyone knew that I was OK. The last three people in the call were Katane (Natiln was with her, but off screen), Perdan, and then Me with Jackie. Katane hung up at the awkward silence that ensued.

"Well, ummm. I have to go. See mew tomorrow at school?" Perdan asked. I nodded.

"Yeah. Yeah definitely." I said, smiling. I saw Perdan blush slightly, and then he hung up. I felt myself blushing a bit too. Was I flushed for Perdan?

"C'mon Dee. Dave is waiting down in the apartment." Dirk said. I smiled and handed Jackie back her phone. I said goodbye and left with Dirk.

When we got back to the apartment, Dave was in the kitchen, and there were 6 empty apple juice bottles. He looked up, shadeless, and saw me.

"Oh my god thank gog your ok," he said running over to hug me. His eyes looked a bit bloodshot. "We were afraid you had run away or something."

"Dave, I would never do that. You guys are my brothers. You are the only family I got." I said. "I couldn't leave you if I tried." I pulled my shades off as well, and we all sat in the living room, and we ate doritos and watched some TV.

I am so glad I have a family now.
