Chapter Three

Dave's eyes widened.

"What?" He said.

"I said that I remember you." I said, plainly. "Well, not much about you, but I remember seeing you in my memories and stuff like that."

Dave pulled me up and hugged me. "That's great. 'Cause we already adopted you." 

I pulled back in surprise. Dave looked concerned.

"I hope that's OK." He said. 

I Nodded. "Its... It's amazing!" I said. I was so happy. I was going home. Or as close as it got. I hugged both Dave and Dirk and ran up the stairs, two at a time. 

I pulled all of my clothes and belongings into a backpack. It wasn't much. It was still really light. I ran into Andrew again on my way out the door. I didn't say anything. I put my hand on his forehead and shoved him out of the way. I fell back and glared at me. I waved, smirking. I walked back down Dirk took me bag. I reached up to push my glasses into place when I realized they weren't there. 

I began to panic. Andrew saw my eyes. Everyone saw my eyes. I looked around and felt like everyone was staring at me. 

I was having a panic attack. My vision blurred and my heartbeat sped up. It's been years since I had a panic attack. Dave ran up and hugged me. He whispered in my ear. He knew what was happening. 

"It's OK. It's Fine." He repeated. He handed me my glasses and I put them on. I calmed down after a minute. 

"Thanks, Dave." 

"No prob." He replied. 

We all got into Dirk's Car. He hopped into the front seat and started the car. The ride was quiet at first, but I ended the awkward silence. 

"So, how old are you guys."

"Well, I'm 21 and Dave is 16." Dirk said.

"Wow, you guys look really young." I said.

"Thank you!" Dave said, proudly. His phone dinged and he pulled it out.

"Oh. It's John and Jake. They want to meet Dee and introduce us to Jackie." Dave said to Dirk. 

"Sounds cool. How about you, Dee?" Dirk said. 

"Um, sure. Who's John and Jack and Jackie?" I asked.

"Well, Jake is Dirk's boyfriend-"

"He is not!" Dirk said.

"-And John is my best bro. Jackie is their sister, who I haven't met yet. They just found her too." Dave said. 

"Sounds cool to me. Also, now might be a good time to tell you that I'm bi." I said to them.

Dave gave me a thumbs up. "Welcome to the Club. Its part of being a Strider." 

I smiled.
