Some Things Never Change

Third Person:

"Her kidney is failing." Miranda chorused as she passed Addison a clamp.

"Heart rate is dropping." Preston added then ordered for suction,which Derek obeyed, swishing the tube to clear the blood out of the dark skinned man's view.

"Her abdominal wall looks like its ready to tear." Richard cursed under his breath before Addison warned,"Be careful. She's pregnant and I know she'll be heartbroken if she loses this kid." Miranda and Derek looked up in surprise then asked,"She's pregnant?!"

The redhead gave a crisp nod and went back to work. She can't lose her sister. It would tear her apart if she lost Aviana...

Meanwhile, up in the gallery, Cristina, Izzie, George, Payton,Meredith,and yes, Alex, was watching with wide, worried eyes. That was their friend on the table. And all of those interns knew what the pressure felt like on each and every surgeons' shoulders down there.

Please don't die, Avi. Izzie thought to herself.

You can do this, you're strong enough to do this, you stubborn bitch. Payton mentally cheered for the raven haired woman to come out alive.

You can't die. I haven't told you how I feel about you... I can't lose another friend, Aviana. George whimpered inside his mind. Cristina's mind was a whirlwind, as well as Meredith's. But, the worst out of them all, was poor Alex.

"Wait, did she just say Avi is pregnant?" Izzie demanded, turning to her fellow interns, only to receive dirty looks.

"Are you bloody serious,you ninny? That's our friend on that damn table and you're worried about the fact that she's pregnant!" Payton exclaimed, her hazel eyes shifting to a dark brown.

"Castle, now isn't the time." George warned, glancing down at the OR.

"Then when is it the right time, 007?! Huh! Look, this is stupid. Aviana is lying on that table and Blondie Bitch is wondering if she's pregnant!"

"Hey,shut it! Yeah, she's pregnant. And it's my kid. But they're talking and I'm trying to listen so I know how my girlfriend and child is doing!" Alex barked, his hazel eyes narrowed into slits.

"Hey,Addison? How many kids is she supposedly pregnant with?" Miranda asked, lifting her head slowly. The redhead frowned at the ridiculous question then declared,"One. Why?"

"Because I see two fetuses." She hurried over and glanced inside her sister's body before swallowing then gave a shallow nod.

Twins? I'm going to be a dad to two kids! Alex exclaimed inside his mind.

Most of the operation was completely then and there with in a three hour period but everyone was holding their breath about this intern.. With her kidney failing and not having any knowledge about what was going on inside her brain, they were tiptoeing but they were tiptoeing fast.

4 Days Later:

"Should I call Jackson?" Meredith asked out of the blue,turning to Cristina. The Korean woman frowned then questioned,"Why? Do you think Parker was lying to Karev about him being the father?"

"No, but there could be a small, minimal chance in the world that she could have heteropaternal superfecundation since she was still sleeping with Jackson and Alex at the same time."

"Are you meaning to tell me that you think that my sister is that big of a whore that you think her children have two different fathers, Grey?" Addison demanded as she stormed over, still in her OR scrubs and mask.

"Um, Dr. Montgomery-Shepard, I was just saying that there was a possibility that it could happen since she was drunk and slept with Dr. Karev one late night then slept with Dr. Avery the very next day." Meredith stuttered out, obviously not wanting to upset the redhead.

"I will run a DNA paternity test at the end of the patient's first trimester, which is in a half a week. Now if she stays unconscious for that long, then I do the NIPP test." Addison declared before walking away.

"Dude, you're pissing off the wrong lady." Payton muttered as she leaned against the wall, watching Addison walk away.

"You know Satan and her family?" Cristina asked. The Brit scoffed and turned her hazel eyes to her then snarled,"Know them? My brother is the bastard that cheated on Annie, ruined Derek and Addie's marriage."

"The dude who ruined their lives is British? Well, can't say I blame her." Cristina muttered.

"No, half brother. Me mum was British. She and his dad had a one night stand." Payton explained.

"Damn. Drama pot much? What else know about Avi?" Izzie asked, eager for information. Payton clenched her jaw then turned to glare at the blonde.

"Go stick your nose in someone else's bloody business, for God's sake, Stevens." the Brit snapped. Izzie sighed then demanded, "What the hell is your problem with me? I haven't done anything to you."

"No, but you're always shoving your damnable nose into other people's businesses then you go and run your mouth. I don't like you, Stevens, and I don't think that's ever gonna change."

"Hey, she's awake!! Someone page anybody!" Alex shouted as he hurried into the room beside Aviana's bed. She frowned at the feel of Alex holding her hand then pushed him off before she muttered,"Jackson. Someone get me Jackson Avery."

"Aviana,its me, it's Alex." Karev cooed, petting the back of her hand. It seemed that Alex holding her hand set her off,"Get the hell off! Someone get him out of here! Out, out, out!"

"Dr. Karev, I need you to leave." Bailey warned as she and Derek entered the room, frowning at the sight of Avi fighting against Alex.

"But, I didn't... do anything." he whispered as he was ushered from the room and closed the curtains.

Later:

"Karev,Grey, I will give you an hourly report on Dr. Parker- Montgomery's condition but I need you to get back to work. We have lives to save and I don't need my interns worrying about their fellow intern instead of working." Miranda lectured, shoving Karev and Grey away from the room.

They swallowed and turned away.

Aviana's Point of View:

"Addison,am I losing this baby?" I whimpered,my throat raw from the screaming and disuse of my voice. She looked up from my chart then shook her head and protested,"No, that baby is fine-"

"Dammit Addison, quit lying to me and tell me the truth. How is my baby?"

"The baby is abnormally small. But there's something else. Aviana. You're having twins." I gulped and glanced around before I declared,"I don't want to lose these babies, Addie."

"You're not going anywhere right now. The MRI and CAT Scan results are in. Annie,I'm afraid that this pregnancy just got a lot more difficult." Derek announced.
