I leaned over the toilet bowl and vomited out what was left of my breakfast. For the past three weeks, nausea has been my life every morning. "Shelby, are you ok" Sean asked from outside the door. "Yeah, I'll be out in a minute". I wiped my forehead of any sweat I might have had, flushed the toilet, washed my face off and walked out of the bathroom. "Baby, are you ok? You've been doing this for three weeks. I'm starting to get worried". He pulled me in for a hug and held me close. "Not to hard. Just in case" I said. He let go of me and we walked downstairs. To make matters worse, my period is late and I have a sneaking suspicion why. "I'm going to go out later. Do you need anything" I asked. "Nope. And stay out as long as you want. You don't always need to be in the house. I love you, but you need to get out more. We both do". I nodded and walked out to the kitchen to grab my tea. "Take as much time as you need to. You know where to find me". He walked upstairs to the recording room and quietly shut the door. I smiled at his kindness. The house was quiet now, but would soon be filled with yelling. I walked upstairs to our room and started to get dressed. I pulled out a pair of black jeans, a sky blue tanktop and my black leather jacket. I tied up my lace up boots, grabbed my purse and walked out to the car. First stop was the mall. I needed some new jeans and a couple new dresses. After going to Forever 21, Game Stop, Express, Pink, DSW, and Hot Topic, my arms were filled with shopping bags. I walked into Claires and came out with a cute little nose piercing, as well as a couple new phone cases, a flower crown and new earrings. I got back into my car and drove over to the drug store for one more thing. When i walked up to the counter with my select item, the cashier smiled at me. "I wish you luck. I hope it's positive". I smiled back, thanked her and walked back out to my car. Now to do it without Sean noticing. I slipped it into my Forever 21 bag and drove home. Looking at the time on the dashboard, it was almost 5 o'clock. I pulled up into the driveway, grabbed my bags and walked into the house. "Sean, I'm home" I called from the door. "Hi sweetheart. Welcome back" he called from the kitchen. I walked towards the dining room and put my bags down on the floor. "Did you have fun" he asked. I nodded and grabbed the Game Stop bag. "I got you a little something" I said, placing the bag on the counter of the breakfast bar. "Did you? You didn't have to". He smiled and walked over to where I was. "You've been working so hard though. I thought you deserved it. I'll be upstairs if you need me". I grabbed my bags and walked upstairs. I slipped the box out of my bag and went into the bathroom. I read the instructions, did what it said and waited for a few minutes. I was definitely nervous about what it would say. I knew we had been trying since we got married two months ago, but I was ok with kids. The thing I wasn't ok with was ending up like my parents. I didn't want to do what my mom did to my dad and for Sean to end up doing what Dad did to me. I picked up the test and smiled at the result. A little pink plus sign. I squealed, hid it behind my back and walked to the kitchen. "Do you want to go out for dinner tonight" I asked Sean. "Why? Is somethimg wrong" he asked. I shook my head and smiled. "I have another surprise for you". "Another? Haven't I been spoiled enough for today". "Nope. But this one is the suprise of a lifetime". "What are you up to" he asked, walking closer to me. My smile widened as I pulled out the test. "You know how I've been sick a lot lately". His eyes widened and he smiled. "No". I nodded furiously and handed him the positive test. "I'm pregnant". He ran over to me, picked me up and swung me around. "We're going to be the best parents". "The best parents in the world".
