When I crossed the border into Minnesota, I texted Jerry, Margaret and Sam and told them I was in Minnesota.
The roads started getting smaller and looked more like town roads and we passed a sign that said Welcome To Wabasha. I texted the group again and told them I made to Wabasha. The city I now live in.
It takes 13 hours and 12 minutes to get from Denver, Colorado to Wabasha, Minnesota and I have been driving for that long. I'm relived when we pull into my new house. Grabbing my bags out of my car, I lock the doors and walk inside to our new house.
It's actually very nice. Really nice. Two story. I get my own bedroom upstairs and my own bathroom. Thank God I don't have to share a bathroom with Jason. My room is down the left hall upstairs. I walk inside and immediately fall in love with my room. It's bigger than my old room and the layout is fantastic. I have a walk-in closet on the right side of my room and a bay window on the left side. The floor is hardwood but Mother bought me a huge white rug to put on the floor. I'm so excited to decorate my room.
I take a picture of the empty room and send it to my friends. I hear people outside my door. I look and it's the movers helping my father bring my bed up to my room. They brought my new bed and gave my old one to Jason. haha.
My new bed is a queen size and I even got a new comforter set. My comforter is purple and my sheets are white. My pillows are purple to match my comforter. I put the white furry rug down and then allow the movers and my father to put my bed together. I thank him and lay down on my new bed. It feels like heaven and I ended up falling asleep a few minutes later.
I hear birds chirping and my eyes slowly pry open. I'm in Minnesota. I remember. There's boxes with my name on it across from the bed and my vanity is sitting against one of the bare walls. I crawl out of bed and go downstairs to find Mother making breakfast and Father unpacking. She smiles at me and says "Happy first morning in Minnesota!" I laugh and grab a plate. I'm starving after that long drive last night. My mouth almost waters at the sight of the feast Mother has prepared. I pile chocolate chip pancakes on my plate and grab 4 pieces of bacon and two spoonfuls of eggs. My seat at the marble bar counter is reserved by my plate while I wash my hands.
I inhale my breakfast and put my plate in the sink and run up the stairs to my room so I can start unpacking. I bring the 4 boxes of clothes and 2 boxes of shoes to the closet, hanging the clothes up and arranging the shoes neatly. Next, I unpacked makeup and vanity items and aligned them up on the desk. My father brought my new shelves and pushed them against the wall where I asked. I strung my Christmas lights around my bed and the bay window. Piles of pillows were thrown into the seat of the window and I added some cute curtains.
Just when I think I'm done, I see a few bags sitting on my bed. It's my gift bags from my friends. I grasp the picture and study it. A smile plasters my lips. I miss them so much. The frame earns a spot on my vanity. I unpack the rest of their trinkets and stand them neatly on my desk. Grabbing some tape, I tape the Polaroids up inside my bay window.
So I think my room is set up for now. I stand in the doorway and take a picture with it decorated and send it to the group again.
Jerry Berry🍈: slay chicka!!!

I've never been the new kid. I grew up in Denver. I need to make sure I observe the way Minnesota kids act. I need to fit in, lay low.
