"hey babe." Gabe coos in my ear and slithers his arm around my back. I roll my eyes, "hey Gabe."

"Did you miss me?" He licks his lips. "Of course." I smile sarcastically. "You're taunting me." He whispers in
my ear and I duck into chemistry. He takes his seat behind me and I greet Alison.

"Did Melly come to school with you?" Gabe asked. I nodded and he shrugged. "Where are you from?" Alison spoke.

"Denver." I smiled. "That explains why you're so pale." Gabe chuckles. I ignore his comment and pull my notebook out. The teacher tells us to copy down the elements of the periodic table and I begin sketching.

Once were finished, we had to make a bulleted list of the elements in sections based on if they are a liquid, solid, or gas.

I feel Gabe lean up and copy my notes down but I let him do it. After he's done, he feels the need to lean up and whisper in my ear, "thanks for the notes baby."

Melly rolls her eyes and passes me a note.

I bet his breath stinks.

I laugh and cover my mouth before I get in trouble. Melly grins at me and I tuck the note into my bookbag for keeping. The teacher assigns our homework for tonight. We have to observe different elements in our house and write them down.

The bell rings and Gabe hangs his arm around my shoulder as we walk to algebra. "You like playing hard to get?" He mumbles. I grin and whisper in his ear, "I'm not trying." Melly points to her throat and pretends like she's gagging and Gabe gives her the finger.

The guy from yesterday eyes me again and Gabe hits him in the chest, "back off dude. I told you dibs." He says low. I have yet to learn the boys name. I turn in my algebra homework and Melly and I both make a 100. She hugs me and thanks me for helping her get the good grade. I read over the lesson that we're learning so I can know what to study but once again, I'm interrupted by Gabe leaning in my ear. "Why do you do so much work?"

"Because, I want to pass sweetie." I say and pat his cheek. He sits back in his desk and I feel his eyes on me.

I read over the standard and take note to what formulas and stuff we need to know. I get lost in my reading and soon enough the bell rings.

At lunch, I grab a bag of low fat baked chips, a tea, and I buy a bag of licorice out of the machine. Melly joins me and Alison sits across from me. I open my chips and pop one in my mouth when a hand reaches inside my bag and pulls a chip out. "Thanks doll." He winks. I roll my eyes and eat another chip.

"Did you guys hear about Elisa and James?" Alison dully says and I offer her a chip. She takes one and Melly asks her what she's talking about. "Apparently they broke up." She dramatically eats her chip. Melly and her drift off into conversation and Gabe sparks one with me. "You have a boyfriend?" He says, taking another chip. I shake my head and he grins. "Ever had one?"

I shake my head again and his mouth parts slightly. "Interesting." I feel uncomfortable. He's sounds so sexual all the time. I wonder if he actually takes part in that stuff. He probably does. Or has before.

I hear snickering and look forward. Three girls are whispering and eyeing me like I'm trash. They look to me then Gabe. They don't know why he's talking to me. It must be the jealousy rising up into me that makes me yank a piece of licorice out of my pack and turn to Gabe. My thumbs touches his chin and pulls his lip down. I take a piece of licorice and slowly raise it up to his mouth. He looks at me with mischievous eyes and bites the licorice. I turn back around and see the girls now quiet with wide eyes. I smile to myself and notice Melly and Alison staring at me. "What?" I say with a mouthful of chips. They just look at me and Gabe and start talking again. Why the heck did I just do that?
