Tris

Her eyes flutter open and she yawns. She sees Tobias sleeping next to her. She snuggles onto his chest; not realizing what she's doing. She hears his light snoring. She decides to fall back asleep.

An hour later or so after that. Tobias finally wakes up. He sees Tris is laying on his chest. He smiles that the fact they are so close together but their relationship is so far. He knows Tris would never fall for a guy like him. He carefully gets up from the bed and decides to go to the bathroom to get a shower and then doesn't come back for the whole day.

When the weekend finally comes around, Tris decides she doesn't want to go out with Christina and Will. Ever since Tobias left her and never came back, she felt hurt.

She wanted one relationship with one guy, dating or not to last. But she has realized none of them work out. She lays against the window bench wrapped in her blanket, watching the endless rain. She hears a knock coming from her dorm door. She sets the blanket down and opens it.

Of course it's him.

"Tris." He says. She just frowns at him. "I'm mad at you, and don't say you don't know what you did." Tobias frowns at the floor. "I know, and I'm sorry. I just don't want to scare you away."

She lets out a laugh. "So by pushing me away is the better choice?" She asks. Tobias bites his bottom lip. "No it's not. Let me make it up to you."

"By what?"

"Just let me take you out for some coffee and I can show you why." Says Tobias. She lets out a sigh. "Let me get changed."

After Tris got changed and grabbed her umbrella. They decided to go to a coffee shop that isn't that far from their campus.

Of course the pouring rain didn't stop them. They shot from the car into the coffee shop; get soaked. "Boy this rain will never stop." Says Tris.

"Tell me about it." Says Tobias. They order their coffee and find a table to sit at. Tris takes a sip of her coffee. "So are you going to tell me now why you wanted to push me away."

Tobias lets out a sigh. "Well I'm only telling you this because I trust you. But when I was younger my father used to abuse my mother. He abused her physically, mentally and emotionally. But the worst was when he abused her physically. I couldn't bare to watch her get hurt. But she passed away when I was about six or so. And after that my father went crazy. He abused me for the rest when I was a child. But then he stopped abusing me. He still abused me mentally and emotionally. But all of the physical stuff just stopped when I was a teenager. But ever since I got to this college which I paid off on my own from working for a job I couldn't be any more happier."

Tris lets out a sigh. She feels bad for flipping off on him from earlier. "Tobias did you ever have any girlfriends or friends you could talk to?"

Tobias shrugs his shoulders at her. "Well I have two best friends Zeke and Uriah we all decided to go this college with me. But I dated a couple of girls but I usually ended up offending them or they cheated on me. But the reason I push people away is because I'm scared of turning into my father somehow. I just don't want to hurt you like he did to me."

Tris puts her hand on his shoulder. "You won't ever hurt me Tobias. I know you. Your like a best friend to me, even though we only knew each other for almost a week."

"Well even though we haven't known each for for that long, I consider you very close." Says Tobias.

After they had their coffee together, they both decided to walk around in the city in the pouring rain. Of course they had an umbrella that they both shared.

But they both didn't care if they got soaking wet. "So how about your love life in the past? Did you have any amazing boyfriends?" Tobias asks.

Tris just say anything and she just frowns at the ground. "I had one, in freshman year of highschool. He was nice and all but he decided to end things with me for some reason. Then I had another serious relationship. His name was Peter. It was just an abusive relationship and I could never be in one since then."

A tear slips down her face. "Tris, you don't ever deserve to be in a relationship like that. You need a guy that loves you for who you are. That cares about you and is very gentle. That cares about your feelings." She lets out a smile. "Like you."

Tobias doesn't say anything but instead he pushes her against a wall. He cages her face with his arms. He fits his mouth to hers. They kiss in the rain while being poured on. Tobias wonders if it was really worth it or not to kiss her.

It was totally worth it.
