I quickly break away from Carl's lips to see Daryl towering above us, with his arms crossed.

"You were supposed to be home an hour ago." He growls.

Carl and I sit up, and Carl glances at his watch.

"Shit" Carl says under his breath.

"Sorry Daryl." I say with puppy dog eyes.

"Sorry?!?! SORRY?!?!?! That's all you have to say?!?!?! You had the whole damn group worried!!!!!" He yells.

"What else do you want me to say?" I ask trying not to cry. I always cry when I get in trouble, especially when I was at school.

"It's not her fault, I didn't keep an eye on the time." Carl says trying to defend me. Daryl just shakes his head and gestures for us to follow. Carl and I stand up and follow, hand in hand.

We walk for a few minutes until Daryl signals for us to stop. We slowly approach a walker laying on the ground with it's stomach split wide open. It takes all my strength not to puke everywhere. I'm used to the sight of them, but the smell and my pregnancy, lets just say it's not good.

"You see that walker?" Daryl asks, clearly still pissed.

"Yea." Carl and I both answer.

"When I found it it had a full stomach, I thought it ate you guys! It scared the shit out of me! You guys have to be more responsible!" He whisper-yells. I can tell he's trying to be quiet, so he doesn't attract more walkers.

I feel tears prickle my eyes, and Daryl becomes blurry in my vision. Daryl sees that I'm upset and his face softens. He steps closer and wraps me in a hug.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to freak out like that. I.... You.... Lots just that your like a daughter to me, and I would die if something happened to you." He says. I nod my head with out saying a word.

"Hey what about me?" Carl jokes.

"Eh your just a crazy kid." Daryl laughs. Carl pretends to pout which makes me laugh.

"Alright kiddos lets go home." Daryl says ending our hug, and leading the way back home. It was a long awkward walk home, full of silence.

When we finally got home, my mom was waiting in the hangout room with her arms crossed. Daryl must have given her an 'I already talked to them' look, because she sighed and walked away.

"Thanks, you saved us from another scolding." I say not daring to look at him.

"Yup. Now y'all get cleaned up for dinner." Is all he says before walking out of the room, leaving Carl and I alone.

As soon as he's gone Carl turns to me. "I'm sooo sorry, that was all my fault, I should have watched the time better." He says looking super guilty.

I laugh a little. "It's ok babe." I say before kissing him.

He kisses back, but he seems distracted. I pull away, "what's wrong?" I ask trying to look into his eyes.

"I'm just really sorry." He says. I lift his head so he's looking at me.

"And it really is ok." I say kissing his cheek. He smiles faintly. "I'm gonna go get cleaned up. Ill see you in a bit." I say hugging him and walking out.

I walk to the bathroom, where we keep the wash bin, and 'shower' is. I take a small wash cloth and wet it. I lightly wash the dirt off my arms and legs. I suddenly feel very tired. I walk to my room and lay on me and Carl's bed. It doesn't take long for me to fall asleep.
