A tremor and click on the doorknob had me spinning from Sean, my hands still covering my hot cheeks and looking desperately for something to do to avoid the eyes of whoever was entering. The candy was still in my mouth, reminding me of the kiss I had just shared with Dr. Green and making the panic at getting caught worse. He chuckled and stood quickly, putting his hands in his pockets, whistling. My cheeks burned hotter. I swear, if it was Mr. Blackbourne walking in with Sean acting so obviously like we had just been up to something, I was going to die from blushing too hard. I cleared my throat and threw a glance over to him, willing him to stop before he got us both in trouble. Cedar entered my sinuses and I relaxed, no hint of soap.
"Hey, Peanut. Done with your lesson? We're going to be late for your next class."
I shouldered my violin case and book bag, glad for the out I'd been given so easily. Nathan put his arm out, expectant. He wanted my bag. I sighed and relinquished it, shaking my head when he took it and straightway put his hand out for the violin case. I held onto it, needing some kind of anchor to keep me steady while Dr. Green smirked at me. I turned to leave, a hasty retreat in mind. I said goodbye to Dr. Green and had one foot out the door, before he blocked me, putting an arm across the door. I looked up, wondering what he wanted, Nathan waiting out in the hall for me. Dr. Green, still smirking, bent down to eye level with me.
"You forgot something."
A peck on the lips had the chip of candy I'd given him back in my own mouth and flames burning in my cheeks as I ducked into the hall after Nathan, Sean's pleasant wave sending me off to finish off my school day along with the candy that had been in his mouth moments before.

Gabriel had me in the car and headed for a quick stop home to change before we left for art class. He hummed quietly to himself while I watched the dip and swell of power lines pass by with my chin in my palm and my elbow on the widow frame. I pouted. Mr. Blackbourne hadn't shown up at all today. I had sent my receipt with Victor in hopes that he could delude the man somehow. Making a bet with Mr. Blackbourne had to happen, it was a matter of principle. He couldn't just do as he pleased with people's feelings, getting them to do as he wished like they were puppets to be toyed with. I heard movement on the other side of the car and felt an insistent tug at the back of my shirt.
"Suck that gum...goddamn lip right back in, Trouble. Give a guy a break. I can't watch the road and you to make sure you're behaving."
I harrumphed and twisted toward the window further, making sure my back was completely to him so he didn't have to see me sulking. He harrumphed back, imitating me, and tugged again, harder. I settled myself, wiggling my rear into the seat to let him know I was staying that way.
I received a loud slap on my butt, hard enough to warmly tingle but not enough to really hurt. I placed a hand over the now hot spot and twisted around in surprise, a retort on the tip of my tongue that died off when I saw the huge grin on his face.
Meanie.
I rubbed at the tingle and sat my rear properly back into the seat where he couldn't smack it again. He leaned back in the driver's seat, one hand on the steering wheel and the other still drawing back from the spanking, satisfaction evident in his smug grin. I couldn't help a small one of my own, even if he had spanked me...no, because he had spanked me. Gabriel was one of the few who could get away with it without it being too mean. Luke and Kota as well, Dr. Green maybe, and Mr. Blackbourne...
I squirmed in my seat, flushed at thinking such a thing. What was wrong with me today? I was supposed to be upset with him, not...
"So what are all the new bets about, eh?"
