Kaylyn's Pov

Today at school we got a new student in our grade. I think his name is Xavier. He has all of his classes with me and he's kind of creepy. He keeps staring at me and I feel really uncomfortable. After my last class of the day he came up to me at my locker. He said "hey, I'm Xavier. What's your name?" I glanced at him then back to my locker. I said "I'm Kaylyn." He smiled and said "so Kaylyn, do you wanna go on a date with me tonight?" I gave him a yeah right look and said "no." He chuckled and said "oh c'mon, please go on a date with me tonight." I turned towards him and said "I said no. Now could you leave me alone." He grabbed my ass and said "you know you wanna say yes." I tried pushing him away but he wouldn't budge. I yelled "leave me the fuck alone!"

Blake heard me yell and he was by my side immediately. Blake dropped his bag and threw the first punch. Xavier fell to the floor and Blake said "I believe she said no to your offer so just get the hell out of here!"

Blake grabbed his bag and put his arm around my shoulders. When we got to his truck, I said "thank you so much Blake." He smiled and said "your welcome."

We left the school and drove around town for an hour before going back home. My brothers were waiting for us back at the house. I got out of Blake's truck and asked "what are you guys doing here?" Nathan said "we're taking you home. We don't want you around him after what happened today at school." I said "but he's my mate. I cant just leave him." Matt said "you can and you will." Blake stepped in front of me and said "she's not going anywhere. This is her home and nothing is gonna change that." Daniel, Cory, and Emmet were standing behind me ready to protect their Alpha. Just as Daniel took a step forward, my brothers friends Kevin, Mike, and Joe got out of Matt's truck. Nathan said "she's going home with us and that's final." Blake yelled "like hell she is!"

Matt lunged for Blake and they started fighting along with everyone else. I turned around and ran into the forest. I needed a place to think so I ran all the way to the lake.

Blake's Pov

We fought for about fifteen minutes before Jennifer and Emily broke up the fight. Jennifer yelled "what the hell is going on?!" I stood up straight and said "Matt and Nathan want to take Kaylyn away from me." Jennifer looked at Matt and said "Matt, Kaylyn is Blake's mate. They belong together. You shouldn't be trying to break them up!" Emily asked "speaking of Kaylyn, where is she?" We all looked around but she wasn't there.

She's gone! Shit, what the hell have I done?!

Jennifer and Emily took us all inside to clean us up. While Emily was cleaning up my face, Janey walked through the door. She asked "hey Blake, where's Kaylyn? I need to talk to her about something." I sighed and said "I don't know." She looked at me and the other guys and she yelled "what the hell happened?" I told her the whole story and she said "I might know where she is." That got everyone's attention. I got out of my seat and asked "where?" She went up on her tippy toes and whispered "the lake." I was out the door and going down the stairs when Janey yelled "hey Blake!" I turned around and she said "don't lose her. Ever since mom died, I haven't had anyone to talk to but now that she's here I do. I really like her and I want her to be my sister." I nodded at her with a huge smile on my face.

I ran through the forest to the lake and I found her sitting on the grass crying. I walked over to her and pulled her into my arms and I asked "what's wrong?" She looked up at me and said "I don't want to leave." I smiled and said "your not going to." She touched the bruise on my face and I winced. She whispered "sorry." I whispered "It's okay." She said "I'm sorry I ran away. I couldn't stand to see you guys get hurt." I kissed her temple and said "just don't do it again. I've been going crazy for the past hour trying to think of where you were." She asked "you were going crazy?" I nodded and said "yeah, because the girl I love ran away and I couldn't find her." She tilted her head to look me in the eyes and asked "you love me?"

I paused before saying "yeah, I really do love you. I know that you probably don't feel the same way and I know that we're not a couple but-" She covered my mouth with her hand and said "just shut up and kiss me because I love you too." I grinned and leaned down and kissed her for the first time.
